To the people who think Nick hasn't changed and that he was always like this, and that it was all a grift keep some perspective.
Nick was the same Nick streaming to tens of of people, to hundreds, to thousands, skipping from ten of thousands to hundreds of thousands. Same Nick except for deciding that since his show was at night it was pointless keeping his language family friendly.
During the Depp trial he says he had the worse day of his life. Goes to Matsuri with Kayla, does mdma, takes pics of him getting stepped on (which he did not do the first time he went despite one of them being the same girl). Hedonism II, does more mdma and tries shrooms. Coomer arc becomes public, local's chat starts having pics posted, Nick initially was deleting them, wife finds out, starts posting lingerie pics alongside the nudes, Nick stops trying to delete pics. Wife stops posting, unknown why, Nick starts flirting with the thirst posters. Gay bar birthday courtesy of Kayla. Locals continues.
Nick gets tattoos over the course of all this but never before whatever the "Worst day of my life was" people also forget that when he said that he also said "I have a lot to think about" at some point during the stream in regards to that statement.
One of the tattoos has the words "I will be us" says it has meaning to him.
Here's my theory Kayla gives ultimatum, can only speculate as to what.
Nick makes his decision which is "I will be us" meaning he will do what she wants and take all the flak for it to protect her reputation.
She as at the wheel, Nick is willingly along for the ride because he loves his wife more than his "principles" (True principles trump love).
Nick changed, he changed for his wife. This would be fine if the changes weren't ultimately going to be the doom of the relationship, but in this case they will. No matter what happens Nick's one remaining principle is "I will be us"
This my theory. I can't laugh at what he's become because I started watching him shortly before weeb wars when he was still in the hundreds of views. I went back and watched a ton of his old streams after discovering him(still worth doing btw very entertaining stuff). So watching a man compromise in a way that dooms what he is compromising over to fail anyway is just to much. I will still watch the trainwreck but won't be laughing. I don't begrudge anyone laughing at this as it would be hilarious if I wasn't a long time viewer. Anyway those are my thoughts on things.
