I wouldn't rule out whatever they produce next getting panned. They burned all their goodwill already with the most controversial game of a generation. Druckmann chimped out in twitter after it came out posting happy merchant pics he was getting in his inbox and not once addressing the actual problems people had with the game. And given the state of the world, you can't hide behind you being a kike anymore.I'm sure those of you who watch Todd in the Shadows are familiar with his phrase "Delayed Flop" that he coined in his Trainwreckords video on "Witness", where he explains that it's a phenomenon where something manages to get really big and sell really well through sheer hype and artist goodwill alone, but nobody truly likes it and the artist ends up paying for it big time on the next work.
Something tells me whatever NaughtyDog does next is going to be that for them. Optimistic rate me all you want, but the toxicity from both sides of the TLOU fandom, how controversial the last game was in general and NaughtyDog's indifference towards their fans plus reports of their being shitty to animators (not to mention the remake of the first game, which they just can't seem to leave the goddamn fuck alone) is gonna doom whatever chance their next property is.
Whenever they end up doing TLOU3, I definitely see it doing even worse than TLOU2 in terms of sales since players that are staunch supporters of the first one that were ruse cruised into the sequel that felt betrayed won't even attempt at giving it a chance. I won't doubt at all there's a massive data dump of the game right before release just like last time, that probably cost them tens of millions. Whoever in the dev team that hated globohomo enough to put that out deserves a medal.
