Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have been missing since their car broke down on the M61 in Greater Manchester
"Our top priority is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the newborn baby," Det Supt Lewis Basford, of the Metropolitan Police, said.

"We have no evidence to suggest that either Constance or the baby have been assessed by medical professionals."

Police do not even know if the child was born prematurely or went full term.

Only a day or so old at the time of the car fire, they could have been born in the vehicle, officers say.

Couple missing with newborn baby urged to contact police
The couple appear to have left their home in Eltham, south-east London, in September, when Ms Marten would have shown the first signs of pregnancy, and have since led a nomadic lifestyle, police say.

After the fire, near Farnworth, at 18:30 GMT, they walked off the motorway embankment and flagged down a taxi, which took them to Liverpool.

From there, they took another taxi to the Essex port of Harwich but there is no sign of them trying to board a ferry.

And on 7 January, they took a taxi from Harwich to East Ham, spending hundreds of pounds in fares in a couple of days.

Taxi drivers report hearing the baby in their cabs.

The last time they were spotted was that day, on CCTV, near East Ham underground station.

'Slush fund'
Thought to have lost their belongings in the fire, the couple are travelling using cash.

Ms Marten has inherited wealth, and officers say the couple are likely to have built up a "considerable slush fund" that could allow them to live off-grid for some time.

Whenever they are near CCTV cameras, they look away or cover their faces, police say.

Det Ch Insp Payne said the couple could be anywhere in the UK.

"We want to find this child - that is our overriding aim," he said.

Hint: You can’t change men. If they want to change they can do it on their own and likely would’ve already.

Had I not known the dad's history and seen his mugshot, I'd be worried about the police being so interested in someone who has apparently not done anything wrong but to dump a car and avoid them.

Given context, I can see how people would be worried. This seems like pretty weird behavior.

Even in Bongland the cops wouldn't care when you showed them the baby is OK. Even at this point that would be the end of the criminal matter (well, other the birth not being registered) but social work aren't going to let the kid live with a convicted rapist which is why they will have gone underground.

That is, if you're not carrying a butter knife or being transphobic, or if you don't want the baby forced fed vaccinated blood.

Isn't it the man's fault for....being a sex offender?

Idk, but I hear that men ARE indeed able to not be sex offenders if they try reeeeally hard.

It's 100% his fault for being a sex offender, but if you get involved with a badnonce while knowing his history of noncery then that's on you. I just hope they find the babby OK.

Does anyone read the only reason why they gave a fuck because her family is rich and aristocrats and close with the royal family. Wow imagine devoting 200 cops because they were off the grid since 2016 and how they found out about the baby?
Even if they live off the grid, its the UK, they're bound to leave traces where they could find out about the situation, most likely its just the parents worried that the grandchild is gonna get abused

>richfag roastie decides to go full "fuck you daddy" and run off with some sex offender rapist
Oh well looks like nothing of value was lost.

According to Mumsnet, the woman has had previous children removed. In one of the photos she’s holding an older toddler.

The police have also published what looks like a crime mugshot of her.

The grandparents would have nothing to do with the police hunt.

The most likely scenario is that the baby was subject to a protection order meaning that it would be taken into care the moment it was born.

This isn’t a case of a hippy family deciding to go off grid and not vaccinate because of muh beliefs.

There is most likely drugs and other criminality involved. It appears as though the woman has given birth alone with no medical checks and is living a chaotic lifestyle. The car she was travelling in caught fire, they abandoned it at the side of a motorway then tramped through semi rural woodland for quite a few miles with a newborn before taking a taxi.

There won’t be 200 cops on this full time, it’ll be that a number of different forces are involved because she’s crossing the country.

Some numpties are screaming racism, the dad diddonuffin and others are claiming class privilege (it appears the wealthy woman was estranged from her family for 7 years) but the reality is that she’s been deemed a risk to her child and went underground as soon as the pregnancy became visible. Police are involved because the local authority has parental responsibility for the baby, something that isn’t usually done lightly.

Long and short of it is that she is trying to escape a child protection order.

Very sad but rather plod do this than their usual nonsense of arresting over twitter posts.

Yeah, the only way class comes into this is that unlike all the other Social Services frequent flyer mums she has enough cash to properly disappear.

It's not uncommon for families to flee a child protection order, but usually they get as far as a mates house in the next town over before some relative dobs them in and the social workers come to collect the kids.

(For non Brits, the posh girl >> party girl >> degenerate junkie >> neglectful mum pipeline is more common than you'd think and has been running for centuries. Much to the joy of Brit fuckboys, leeches and cocklodgers.)

Ah. The ever-classic 'bad boy' route that women usually take.

With predictable results! Never changes in high school, and it definitely never changes in adulthood.

They're gonna find this woman dead in the woods somewhere and she'll 100 percent deserve it for her stupidity.
I do hope the baby is found safe though...

If you didn't know the full back story, It would feel like we went back in time a few hundred years to where aristocratic children where the property of the 'family' first and the parents second.

Kind of grim seeing them search the allotments- lot of freshly dug earth there. Could have had the best life as landed gentry and instead she’s sleeping rough with a sex offender with cult links with a tiny baby. Wonder what went wrong there. Awful, anyway.

Couple arrested and not telling where the baby is? I'm sorry but that baby is dead. Poor thing.

Imagine throwing an life of luxury away for a ugly ass hood rat nigga
