The smart ones just play the game without talking about looney troon drama. The dumb ones will apologize for playing the "antisemitic tranny geñocide simulator" and then play it and have fun, the super dumb ones will play it and constantly talk about troon shit and the super duper dumb ones will suck troon cock, declare their hate for this game and not play it because JK bad and trannies are getting genocided.
They'll have to face it eventually if they want to talk to other people online about it in fan communities. With all the controversy this game is generating because of the IP it's based on as well as its author, you really can't get around it with a mentality of "I won't get into troon stuff, I'll just play the game without worrying about it". They'll think that way until people start sending them nasty comments about "You're an EBUL BIGGET for playing this game and giving Rowling money!"
If the first thing you think when you see a greedy character with a big nose is "Jooz!1!" that's a you problem.
It's probably one of those names that gets used when an article is too much of a bad take for anyone to take credit, but they still want the clicks. Like how places like the Washington Post will pen a piece as "WaPo Staff" when they know for certain they're going to get flamed even by their own readers.
I have seen a few articles attacking CS Lewis for his "Islamophobic" portrayal of the Calormen in The Chronicles of Narnia, but he never captured the attention of today's progressives like Rowling did. I never saw any mania involving the Narnia books, and even though I'd occasionally encounter atheists who'd shit on the books for "forcing" Christianity down their throats, they were all idiots of no significance since social media platforms like Twitter didn't exist at the time.
Yes, there were some people I knew who were such hardcore fundies that they thought Amy Grant was satanic because she used electric guitars in her music, but the bulk of evangelicals I knew loved CS Lewis and many of them had Mere Christianity and The Chronicles of Narnia on their bookshelves. I even did a book report in a public school that covered several of his books and the only person who got pissed about it was this hardcore atheist chick.
This is a wonderful story. I, too, love JKR. But sex is not work. Every time we use that language--which was invented by the pimp lobby--we normalize a hellacious human rights abuse. The women you describe were not "working" in any meaningful sense of the word. They were being raped for money.
I grew up around a lot of hardcore evangelicals. They loved CS Lewis and hated Tolkien. Tolkien is the reason CS Lewis became a Christian. Tolkien could have personally baptised Lewis in the same river Jesus was baptised and he'd still be the Catholic writer of evil fantasy novels.
Yes, I knew a lot of evangelicals who thought that way, but fortunately my father studied a lot of books on apologetics and theology and one of his closest friends was a devout Catholic so he steered me away from that way of thinking. My father also introduced me to Tolkien's books, too.
