"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
This was a key point. Up until here, Destiny seemed 100% reasonable and agreed with Null about all the deplatforming stuff and how it's harming the Internet. But Destiny apparently believes that dox is the main problem with KF, and if Null simply banned it, people like Keffals would no longer try to get the site shut down... which is totally wrong, lol.
As Null rebutted, the dox usually isn't the real problem (it's just what lolcows point at to complain about). The lolcows actually hate seeing their old fuck-ups archived and discussed.
I'll even give Destiny the benefit of the doubt and say his point wasn't that Keffals wants the site down because of the dox, but rather it's what makes it easy for them to rally people around. That's still stupid, because even without dox they'd still blame it for retarded shit, just look at the MTG thing, her dox wasn't on here but they still blamed the swatting on the site. Even if the dox wasn't on here, they'd claim it's swatting, or they'd claim it's a site that bullies people into suicide like Byuu who didn't have a dox, or they'd just claim Brenton Tarrant posted his manifesto on here and was a user, despite all of that being false it was printed in multiple newspapers.

And I'm not pro dox either, I think it has been useful for documentation in the past, but it's not the reason people want the site down and it's not what lets them attack it.

Some chat screencaps from Tom's/Destiny's chats:

Tom's viewer too scared of big boy words:

Destiny's viewer getting gaslighted:

Destiny's chat janny finds Null less likeable than Keffals:

Destiny's viewers shocked that Null wasn't a lunatic:

Can't remember if it's Tom's or Destiny's viewer hoping Null and Destiny play some StarCraft:

EDIT: Oh yeah and all three chats were on the idea of Destiny funding the KF lol

It is quite interesting. It is not what I was expecting.
Like I was saying earlier in the thread, Destiny is extremely good faith and will match the energy of whoever he's talking to. Destiny has a lot of experience on the internet and is innately familiar with everything Josh talked about, which is more than you can say about Tom(no offence turkeybro). Josh wanted to have an honest conversation about the state of the Internet with Tiny - who's an old internet boomer like him - and that's exactly what he got.
What I'm genuinely surprised by is the fact that so many here were doomsaying about how this will be some JonTron style debate with Tiny attempting to get "owns" on Josh.

Good stream. I like Destiny, I think he's a reasonable dude who's genuinely torn between acknowledging that the farms do more good than harm, and the career suicide it would be to be open with that. He grasps at straws like "it's uniquely the doxing", "documenting histories is done on reddit too" and when Tom and Null point out how not true that is and used the Paytas counterexample he completely drops that point rather than doubling down.

He can say "Kiwifarms has a right to exist, but..." all he wants, having Null on the stream speaks louder than words anyway. And honestly that's fine.

This is the first time I've listened to Destiny for a prolonged period of time and Good God does he have a gay voice in both the perjorative and actual homo sense. It was nice that it was a peaceful conversation, but if I have to hear Null explain to some zoomie retard about Gamergate one more time I'll blow my brains out.

Really abrupt ending but still pretty good stream, Destiny comes across as mostly reasonable, relative to his overall stances at least. When the conversation turned to doxing I was worried things would get heated and they started to, but then they defused and I'm glad. Tom definitely felt like a third wheel but that's just inevitable when the other people on the stream are such strong, dominant personalities like Null and Destiny. Tom is fairly milquetoast in comparison, which I won't fault him for because he's young and hasn't been an Internet personality very long. I feel like I could make a bingo card out of certain things he says, though.

I haven't seen anything really of Destiny besides his Keffals manifesto so beyond his status as le epic debate liberal I don't know much, but he came across as intelligent, reasonable and with a good sense of humor in this. I did catch one viewer in his stream saying something to the tune of "I don't know why I expected Null to be unhinged" which made me laugh.

You would to well to attempt to engage in conversation instead of lying in wait for your turn to rant about a specific topic. Maybe this habit is a consequence of your weekly podcasts, but that's what it felt like. You engage in good back and forth with Rekieta, maybe because you're more familiar with him.

I don't think there's a significant qualitative difference between Tiny's and Nulls speaking styles, other than that Tiny is funnier when he's pissed off and that Null is much more pleasant when he's relaxed. Also, I enjoy when Null explains shit. He's absolutely at his best when explaining relatively esoteric matters.

Destiny doesn't have room temperature IQ unlike most political internet personalities from both sides. So even if he is a manlet with wrong opinions on almost every subject, he can hold a conversation like a normal person because he is smart enough to be able to try to think about what the other person is saying and actually refute those claims.

This was kinda fun, wish it was Metokur instead of Turkey Tom.

Absolutely agree that Null is a better speaker, but the slight lisp that Destiny has triggers my tism

I don't hear a lisp myself (more like a constant tension), though I think Destiny lacks the ability to chill out and lay off the performance and sound earnest unlike Null.
