Well, there's 3 answers.
One is the overly charitable answer: children need to be exposed to lovable non-sexual drag queens in story time like environments to help them learn early about all the different people and this will promote tolerance in our society going forwards. This is the answer Drag Queen Story Hour LTD, a 501(c)(3) essentially parrots. They do not elaborate. This leads me to answer number 2.
Two is the doing greed answer: LGBTP
lus shit is hot for grift dollars and an entire grift pyramid can be constructed by a few canny trannies/drag queens/whatevers that effectively funnel tax free money to themselves to read shitty drag themed storybooks nobody would ever read otherwise but because Queen Poison the Demon Sex Succubus wrote it and read it to children, all the retard parents that go to this kind of thing in the first place will probably buy it to place on their coffee table and show off to their out of touch friends. Objectively, this answer probably finds the most real world evidence to support it.
Three is the conspiracy answer: Getting to children and exposing them to people dressed like sex demons before they've ever heard of the concept of putting the letters "s", "e", and "x" next to each other will subtly brainwash them into accepting increasingly perverted shit, at worst, to the end of actually sexually abusing them without them thinking it's a bad thing, much like a helicopter constantly circling nearby an active hostage situation will eventually inure the hostage takers to the sound of a helicopter around them unless they consciously fight that impulse, giving tactical teams an insertion advantage should the time come. There is an added benefit of using it as psychological warfare against those with less pliable minds since the lies required to justify doing it in the first place are so obvious that the lack of acknowledgement of these lies by institutions of power and influence can be enough to try even minds considered by their owners to be well steeled. Finally the political power aspect, much like BLM riots coming to no-name backwaters in the middle of nowhere for no easily cognizable reason, drag queen story hour is an excellent format to fuck with tarmac of reality and introduce cracks and potholes to people who thought they had run far enough away to avoid this shit. Unfortunately, this answer finds evidence to support it mostly between the lines, almost never explicitly enough to get anyone to do anything official, but things keep happening that don't allow that feeling that something more is going on here to ever be dispelled...like the Biden Admin funding that shit in Latin America.
Personally I think the answer lies in the union of 2 and 3. There's definitely some powerful 3 involved, I can see that outline beneath the sharky waters despite the lawyer copy, but never underestimate the power of 2, and it is ultimately sustained by 2 regardless of how much or how little 3 is involved.
