In a vacuum, it's not bad. The fake-hostile angle gives the interviewee an opportunity to get some things off his chest.

Kyle is clearly very reserved and careful with his answers, and Nick, who I've always considered to be a very good interviewer, should've picked up on that and taken a different tack.
