Have you noticed this kind of nostalgiatarding seems to be especially commonplace among 90s kids?
I mean, sure, there's the occasional oldfags who will claim that classic rock is the pinnacle of music, and no matter what the generation, the elderly are going to find SOMETHING to complain about re: young people. But I don't think I've ever seen anyone sperg about their generation's media/cartoons/whatever as hard as 90s kids. Was it all that 'you're special!' Mister Rogers/Sesame Street crap they were raised on or something that's made them like this?
I mean I don't like the reboot mostly because I'd rather see more original shit and I hate this current trend of hyper-colorful noodly and rounded art style so damn much, but goddamn.
Maybe it's because 90s kids were, generally speaking, the first generation to be immersed in internet culture at a young age so their sperging is a lot more visible?

I can confirm there was plenty of this sort of thing on the internet in the previous decade for 80's nostalgia. However, because a lot of the children of the 80's are now in their 30's, they're like, super old now, ew.
Kurt was a whiny cunt and could barely play the guitar.
THE 80S WILL NEVER DIE
Funny since the "glorification" of the 90s media varies around tumblr- some kids hate the 90s due to "omg muh feels all the racism/sexism/whateverism" others love it bc "POCs starred in shows and girls got their own movies IT WAS SO DIVERSE WHY DO NOWADAYS WE DON'T HAVE DAT ANYMORE!"
They give a pass to Steven Universe because it panders to their political agendas. If SU had female characters that were more tall/skinny/blonde/white and with more girlier hobbies, the show would be condemned to hell and back.
That blog goes further and further off the deep end every time I see it.Have you guys seen the blog Ruined Childhood? This fits because "ZOMG MUH 90's cartoons with dumb dirty jokes" and peppering of lol white people and #StayWoke

I kinda remember the 90s, and yet, I don't. So I never got that whole "I wish we could go back to the 90s/80s/whatever, everything was simpler back then!" I kinda get the feeling that they also want to remember the good things, and forget about the bad (though when some people start sperging about the bad things as if they were good themselves, it kinda renders my point moot). And most of these so-called "90s kids" aren't even old enough to remember the '90s either. Couple that with nostalgia being a fad right now. They're too young to remember a past that was drastically different than today, so they call themselves '90s kids (or '90s babies) because they were born in the '90s. They'll even claim they have memories of the '90s and that they remember certain songs, cartoons, or commercials, even those who were still sucking on their mother's jugs in the year 2000. I can't call myself an '80s kid because all I remember about the '80s is being a toddler, and '80s leftovers that spilled over into the '90s. In fact, to truly experience and appreciate the '90s, you had to have been born in the '70s and experience it as a teenager or young adult.
