RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

Breaking news! Rooster Teeth is OFFICIALLY begging the FNDM NOT to pirate the show ,probably in light of the Kdin shitshow, as well as their rep of not paying their animation grunts.

A true "lol,lmao" moment.

Except you release it in a way that’s going to lead to piracy. Also people just hate you, so that’s going to more Jolly Rogers being raised. Gabe Newell was on to something, wasn’t he?

I forgot the KDin thing.

This is fucking pathetic. Could you imagine a big name company begging it's users to not use a competing service because they really need that money?

Why do they keep bringing Geoff the broken sad sack cuck out to defend their garbage moves that pisses off literally every one of their few remaining fans off?

Is he the only one pathetic enough to say yes? Is it some kind of sado-masochist thing where they take pleasure torturing him? I just don't know why they keep bringing him out to defend this shit.

Not the same Geoff, this is a different one that works on the business side.

The funniest part of this is, being on CR might actually do better for it's piracy, cause when the 4th episode Ice Queendom (the RWBY anime) came out on their own app, it didn't have subs for a while. Hell, the audio for the V8 releases was also garbage (at least on the kickassanime version).

However, they still didn't need this plead anyway, they have the best anti-piracy measure that one can get... Just make something so bad that no one wants to or cares about pirating it.

Yeah, Rooster Teeth's business models haven't been the best. I can't think of any successful company that does what they do off hand that behaves in the way they do. It's like they think they're still four guys in an apartment playing Halo.

Many of the comments are blindly optimistic.

"RWBY lives and dies based on how it's monetized by you, the fans!"
> Fans sign up for RTFirst to support the show
"No not like that!"

This might be the first time I've seen a business try and drive people away from their subscription model. This 100% reeks of "We know we're going to get shutdown by Warner, so we're trying to convince Crunchyroll we're viable so the show can continue" and holy fuck is it dire. Considering the bad state of the show (WRT animatiors, morale, licensing) I can't imagine Crunchyroll is interested unless it does fucking gangbusters.

I said it way back when queendom dropped on CR, but it seemed pretty clear to me that RT's only viable property was likely being tested with CR to see if they could take it over from RT. Now that RWBY proper is basically just another CR show that pretty much confirms my prior theory. Sure RT still made it, but volume 9 was likely in mid production when this decision came from on high. It seems very likely they will not be the ones directly making Volume 10, at least not under the RT umbrella.

RT getting completely gutted and shuttered is more likely than ever now since they have literally nothing without RWBY.

Been keeping an eye on the comments. No point sharing more, just reread the previous ones I posted. Everyone is either indifferent to this news, or absolutely livid and claiming that they will cancel their subscription and/or pirate the anime. Bad taste in shows, but nice to see not everyone over there is a mindless consoomer.

Except the only show CR made was High Guardian Spice, and we all know how that went. AFAIK, this is just a distribution deal. I'm not sure who else would make this thing, except I think that there's always the chance that the new makers could just do something to just wrap up the story before doing a reboot.

And then it's like something that drives people to the world of pirates, like the death of Gold Roger. I think this is the first time I've seen a RWBY update blow up in RT's face.

"make" was the wrong word. Produced under the CR brand is what I meant. And they would just hire an actual animation studio to do it like a lot of CR produced anime or shuffle RT's studio under CR to do it.

Regardless, the fact is that RT have lost control of RWBY and it is slowly but surely being taken from them.

I mean, when Ice Queendom was announced, I believe some people thought that there was a chance that it was a water test to see what another studio could do before the IP (at least before they did another storyline with episode 4). At least RIQ had the main VAs in the dub.

Heres some rwby tweets. Also why do they feel the need to niggerfy white characters, i just cant wrap my head around it.

"Dunking on RWBY fans."

Low hanging fruit. Go to ANY forum or subreddit jacking off to RWBY. You'll wish to get that time back and forget they ever existed. They make bronies look well adjusted and mature.

Also, lol, I chuckled when it comes to "ethical consumption". As Velma has begrudgingly shown, they're only as left wing as it's convenient. Not because leftists or leftism is inherently virtuous (it fucking isn't), but because it's a youthful trend or means to an end. These shallow fucks would buckle down from pressure. It's the true believers that you have to watch out for.
