Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

It really blows my mind that Yofukashi no Uta (Call of the Night) hasn't been renewed for a second season anime adaptation already, I really figured it would have not only been renewed but possibly snapped up by a bigger streaming service than HiDive by now. I enjoyed a lot about it though - the one fatal flaw I've found is the age of the main protag but it does a better job of handling degen shit than similar animes. The art is fucking incredible though and Nazuna makes for a nice twist on the vampire theme.
Its such a beatiful anime. If u liked Call Of The Night, then I recommend you give Dagashi Kashi a watch. Its gotta be one of my favorite animes of all time. Even though season 2 was meh.

Seems like 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Love You is getting an anime adaption, pretty cool since the manga is hilarious but then again it seems like it'd be a pretty difficult series to adapt properly.
Either way, the best gf, snufkin chuuni gf, won't probably show up in season 1.

I saw the news and they said it was just a leak, so nothing has been confirmed as of yet. If this is true, then my original post will have me sounding pretty vindicated and nervous at the same time.

My friend told me once that Zero Two is just a mix of Lum and Anemone from Eureka Seven put into one character and I never stopped thinking about it.
Nah, she's just an outright Lum copycat.
Easily one of the most overmemed and boring waifus of the 2010s.
The fact you actually need waifus (same thing happened to 86 which had Lena) to make people watch mecha anime shows how big of a filter mecha as a genre is to the average Westerner. Big shame too, it's easily one of the greatest anime gold mines with so many great shows. I'd take mecha over battle shounen #8254 for my action fix.

Bungou stray dogs is clearly popular enough in japan to get this 4th season but I'm not seeing much buzz in western circles. I guess there's not enough marketable waifus? Too much keikaku doori mindgames as opposed to guys punching each other? Not that I mind much cause large fanbases get cancerous real quickly.

I finally gave up, got drunk and gave Konosuba a shot. Other than the nonstop lolibaiting degeneracy it was a very fun watch, so when I saw discussion that S3 might finally make an appearance that was cool, I just hope they don't fuck with the VA casting. It's one of the things that annoys me about anime is sometimes just due to the length of time in between seasons, VAs drop off for various reasons. Hell, the VA who voiced Bulma in Dragonball for decades actually died in between seasons a few years back.

SpyxFamily remains my top anime of the year though. I'm fairly certain that if any anime girl has ever been worthy of being called a waifu it is Yor, bitch was straight up created in a lab to be great. But the plot is just so damn fun, it almost feels like watching a Saturday morning cartoon but for adults. Loid might be one of my favorite male protags in anime because instead of being a dipshit who inexplicably has a harem he is just a competent dude trying to do a job but constantly feeling like he's going to die of anxiety because he's surrounded by what he perceives as incompetence - meanwhile his adopted daughter is a telepathic menace and his pretend wife could probably even kill him.

People keep recommending I watch Farming Life in Another World but Farming Simulator w/ Anime Tiddies doesn't sound like a recipe for a long running plot based series.
You know, whenever I see "uta" my mind immediately just screams out "Puta!" like some bad cartel movie.

I don't even remember what happened last season. In fact, the Wan! spin-off is more memorable to me than the actual series at this point. I'm only watching S4 now out of my completionist 'tism & because best character Rampo is hard carrying the show, I'm having a "I'd rather he'd be the MC" moment every episode of S4.

It's a Konaka anime, if you have heard of him you should have expected that kind of ending.
Ye, I know him because he was involved in writing that trainwreck of a Hellsing TV version and Tamers oddly enough, which was rather good..wonder if somebody wrangled him in for that one.

For me, it just comes hard as strong fujoshi shit. The most you even hear about it in the west is from fujo's

I do understand that. While I like the series in general I think the flashback stories are usually more interesting than the main one.

I don't get why people say this cause there's literally nothing gay about it whatsoever. I watch actual gay shit like Sasaki and Miyano but I see nothing gay about Bungou.

I splurged out on buying anime today, and one of my findings was the complete series of Burst Angel. I think it was @DDBCAE CBAADCBE who mentioned a DVD Easter Egg and I love DVD Easter Eggs, but I need that confirmation again, and if it's on the Viridian Collection or not.

That has never stopped fujoshi. They just need male characters and that's it. Sometimes they don't even need the male characters to be attractive, their presence alone is enough when your mind is that disturbed by fictional homosex.
