Nothing Chantal herself says can be trusted so we can only know for certain whether she escaped consequences when her bankruptcy information is updated after the hearing, which might take a while.

A third bankruptcy is considered a really big deal in Canada. It automatically has to go to bankruptcy court….not that that seems to bother Gunt. She’d be under much greater scrutiny if she tried it. From memory there is also a time period between when a second is discharged and a third can be filed.

Peetz was showing much greater concern over clearing his credit card debt early in the luxury villa arc. I don’t know if anyone checked his status, it could be she dragged him into bankruptcy with her first. Given her first was discharged over a decade ago, both of them might have been able to lease the villa back in 2020, even if he had a former one when she had her first. We know now thanks to Perfectly Imperfect, that it was this undischarged second bankruptcy that most likely prevented her being a joint leasee on the villa. Peetz could very well end up dragged down with her this time, it really would depend on what kind of limit his card has because (unlike Chantal) he doesn’t appear to have other debts to worry about. No car, and his taxes would have been paid by his former employer. I doubt his YouTube income would hit the level where it became taxable. If he sinks because of her, he only has himself to blame, because he of all people knew what her financial situation was.
