Yeah, but they stopped making Batman: TAS a long ass time ago.Does anyone else kind of miss the old Harley Quinn before they tried making her a brave lesbian?
I mean The Batman cartoon had a ok Harley I would take that one over alot of the current versionsYeah, but they stopped making Batman: TAS a long ass time ago.
Ehh…Does anyone else kind of miss the old Harley Quinn before they tried making her a brave lesbian?
Honestly it depends. Like Harley is either a good character depending on the writer since in the more recent stuff I did like her in the first two seasons of this show, the Arkham games, and she actually was decent in James gunn's Suicide Squad.Does anyone else kind of miss the old Harley Quinn before they tried making her a brave lesbian?
I agree I enjoyed her in James Gunn Suicide Squad. I almost thought I wouldn't like that version of Harley Quinn again after Birds of Prey. But Gunn's Suicide Squad made her likable again for me.Honestly it depends. But she can easily be screwed up with Season 3 of this show and the other DC movies she was put in.
However I prefer her overall in the DCAU
I see it more as anything unrelated to Harley and Ivy is typically well written. The side characters carry the show, which was pretty true of former seasons as well as Harley always seemed to be the worst part of her own show.It ranges from total suck to actually pretty funny on a swing.
What makes it worse is that the season berates Ivy, the rape victim, for being the bad part of the relationship.I find it funny how this relationship was founded under what is essentially rape and this season is focused on it in it's entirety, pretty much. Very good message being shown off here that people are too dumb to notice. Kite Man did nothing wrong.
Super duper optimistic take, but maybe the HBO/Discovery train wreck made them realize they actually have to try and write good scripts if they want to stay employed. So, what a massive jump in quality this latest episode was. Finally a plot line with an interesting character study surrounding it. I love the idea of Harley potentially going good. It was something they should have done in the comics, so I am glad it is being explored here. I also love the mental story as I love the rare occasions in which the psychology of a Batman character is further explored in media.
Just, keep it up can ya. This second half of the season feels like it is taking a 180 and I am all for it.
Also, apparently the show got renewed for a 4th season.
Whatever it is, the past batch of episodes seem far more interesting or funny than the last batch of season 2 and first of season 3.Super duper optimistic take, but maybe the HBO/Discovery train wreck made them realize they actually have to try and write good scripts if they want to stay employed.
They had a giant tantrum about having to cut out a cunnilgus scene. They're gross.Thinking of this show because I've noticed a lot of the people giving this show a critical tongue-bath are among those who've been making long, moralistic, fingerwagging statements, posts and threads that Bruce Timm is a sexist, woman-objectifying monster.

Anyhoo, this Harley Quinn show is far, far more embarrassing than anything Bruce Timm's ever done, including his fixation on having Batgirl and Batman hook up. From what I've seen of the show it's written by people who don't think much of Batman. Of course, I found out the creators of the show and it's main writers are behind various shitcoms like "Cougar Town", I'm sure these people are all big fans of comics' "Dark Knight" and such.
What's really irritating about the show is that it's obviously somewhat better animated than the average animated sitcom produced by hacks who crank out live-action sitcom drivel, but that animation is wasted on "hilarious" Redditor-tier hacky jokes about how The Joker finds out Bruce Wayne is Batman and wants to know where his electric car is, or the Joker trying to pretend he's actually read "Infinite Jest".
