Using the information provided earlier about the ATC audio from the JFK Ground frequencies I went back to look for more audio on the other ones to see if there was any more specific information about the incident.

And there was!

Here's what I found from the JFK ramp frequency.

At 0:19: "We need to pull back into the gate. Can we get pulled back into gate 32? We need a passenger removed."

At 2:30: "We have one passenger - we had an incident with him at the gate [inaudible] and said he was fine, but he's giving us trouble again. We need him off the aircraft."

The ATC audio is from LiveATC. Go to the archive section - it's January 29, 1:00 UTC. It's about 18 minutes in that the pilot asks to turn around which should make it around 8:18pm that they decided to kick whatever asshole they were dealing with off. The plane is scheduled to depart at 7:50, which means that absent other delays there may have been an initial incident at the gate that resulted in a delay but they didn't kick him off over.
