Surprised no one here is even talking about the very real threat of Nuclear war now, considering the tanks being sent to Ukraine.

I don't talk about it because honestly, what's even the point? Here's my reasons why i don't give a fuck about it.

1. 88 tanks that will arrive in god knows how much time aren't going to turn the ride around and lead to ukraine marching down moscow, i don't remember if it was medved or someone else, but their reply was "they'll burn like the rest", it's an escalation? yeah, but the russians look very confident to get over it easily.
2. There's no big red button, a nuke is not as simple as a missile, there's a whole chain of commands that need to happen before it launches and you bet someone would leak it to the public before it happens and cause a scandal.
3. Ukraine is not worth it, just like an user said above me, if we do get a nuclear war over ukraine out of all things then we deserve it.
4. There's very rich, very powerful elites and oligarchs who enjoy their lifes of luxury and power over the peasants, and i doubt any of them wants to stop having it just like that.
5. Cooler heads prevailed during the cold war where things were really about to get nuclear, you had kids practicing nuclear strikes drills and shit.
6. If something gets nuked first, then it will 99% be ukraine, who is not in NATO, and therefore NATO countries have 0 obligation to retaliate with their own nuclear weapons.

And my favorite:

I have a grand total of 0 (zero) ways to stop it from happening, there's nothing i can do about it, so why stress myself over it every day? if it happens it happens and tough shit then.

I agree with you, although I don't know.... the current administration and the way they've been drip feeding "How tactical nukes are great" stories to the media, or trying to say "Putin threatened nukes" seems to me like they a perfectly willing to push through and launch them.

There is no way out of it that's a rosy win where the small nation exits untouched. Either you get occupied, ethnically cleansed, identity erased and absorbed into imperial biomass, or you fight, and die a lot, and maybe you have a chance, which is not a guarantee.
Never forget that Japan and Germany have rebuilt. We still have movies with Germany in 1946.
Hell, Russia has rebuilt, and the Germans inflicted absolutely terrible destruction on its Western parts.
Wars end, and after that you also have limited choices, i.e. to survive and get up on your feet, or succumb.
