Boomer crime shows are still getting worse. Most of the format is there, but shows like Ncis, really anything Dick Wolf has involvement in has gone to shit since gamergate when the hilarious out of touch gamer rapist episode was made. These shows were never high brow content, but ok turn your brain off tv. They've subverted even this, what was a successful format to preach the leftie angle on every hot button or at best lukewarm political/idpol topic. Since BLM anything relating to cops has gotten especially worse, and most of it not even in a way that's decently hilarious.

I've wanted to complain about the new series of Law and Order for a while, and since you've opened the door I might as well do so here.

The show looks so cheap. I don't know if it's the camera or the lighting or what, but the show feels like it was made on a budget of 5 pounds and a packet of Space Raiders. The actors that I recognize are delivering shit performances for most of the show despite being good in other things, I don't understand it.

But on topic, whenever the show has a suspect that is a white guy with a baseball cap, I can turn my brain off because it's obvious where the show is going. Even the "good" episodes can be seen as agenda pushing depending how you read them, but it's surprising that they still make pro-cop episodes on occasion.

The new season of criminal minds has been rather retarded. The second episode is about cucks, and it's dumb/10. the main villain of the season is interesting, but he looks like a pussy and has a yeye ass hair cut.
I'll probably keep watching it.

Replying purely because of the mention of Welcome to Nightvale in the OP. I'd already been a /pol/tard well before finding that show but I still fell in love with.
A small desert town with lots of tongue-in-cheek spoopy stuff going on, told through the perspective of the local radio host. Great premise, writing that made me smile, high quality audio, etc.

But then we get to "oh yeah, the protagonist is a faggot btw". Suddenly we're shoehorning in sodomy "rights" and they didn't even have the decency to make the boyfriend a compelling character. Carlos is a "scientist who does science things in his science lab. Haha, pocket protectors and Bunsen burners, amirite?".

No one being able to explain what he does with anything beyond a thirds graders comprehension was a funny enough bit. But they lean on it so hard, going out of their way to push this retardedly written sodomite relationship. BLM and pretty much every other shitlib cause get shoehorned in with increasing frequency as the show aged. It was such a disappointment because it had great potential.

Beyond that? If it involves hedonism, materialism, race mixing/nigger worship, faggotry or other sexually degenerate things, I just ignore it. Not a lot of mainstream things that don't somehow fall into any of those categories. The last movie I saw and enjoyed was The Lighthouse. That did have elements of homosexuality in it but the entire premise was watching two men lose their minds to isolation and alcoholism. Idk, wasn't portrayed as a positive thing so I didn't sperg about it

In Nightvale's case, the creators are from Seattle or Portland if I'm not mistaken so it should go without saying they were never particularly based.

Reading about that comic now. It does sound pretty interesting. Sucks they had to Netflix the hell out of the spin-off though. Have you read the Sandman comics from Neil Gaiman? I deeply enjoyed that one and recall the most poz was some minor characters were gay but it helped drive the plot instead of being shoehorned.

I rather liked Carlos and his Perfect Hair, but around episode eighty I just lost interest. Also, Carlos' actor is far too young for the part.

I already thought the netflix Castlevania show was mediocre, but the introduction of the villain Carmilla turned the show into a joke.

It's so obvious they wanted to have an epic 9000 IQ girlboss with her, but after her introduction she does fucking nothing besides announcing her motivations to others while she orders them to do stuff for her.
She verbatim says "I want to kill old men and take their stuff".

It's funny too because the show had legitimately good female characters in her sisters and in the main character Syfa, but for some reason the audience is supposed to think Carmilla is a threat despite Carmilla never actually accomplishing anything on her own. She sends her sisters off to accomplish nothing and then wonders why she is betrayed by a character she gave no reason not to betray her. Not to mention her death scene was completely overblown and unearned.

At least with tabletop you ultimately have the power to eschew or include whatever the fuck you want. All my settings are some flavor of homebrew, they can remove racial traits or slavery or make every person in their setting a transgender otherkin but there's nothing stopping me from going 'that's gay' and adding it all back in, with an extra heaving helping of problematic storytelling just to really seal the deal.

Tie-in properties though... that's not shaping up so good. I was excited about the new Pathfinder game until I saw all the woke shit. I still haven't touched it. I miss when an RPG appealed to fat nerds like me and not fat dangerhair lesbians who don't buy these things anyway.

I really enjoyed Welcome to Nightvale. I didn't even put two and two together about the gay undertones until the date episode. None of that really bothered me, but I think around season 4, when they really started to focus on their road shows, the quality slipped. Hard.

I ended my on and off cycle of WoW after finding out whoever was in charge of the lore decided to retroactively treat the entire Alliance as secular humanists where no one really believed in anything supernatural aside from a bare few nobodies, and it reeked of ax-grinding. Something seems to have happened at Blizzard just after WOTLK.

I ditched Borderlands after 2 because of how annoying and hamfisted the side quests/creators could now and then get, but in retrospect me hating Tiny Tina probably helped since she's now the series mascot.

I played the game 'Ixion' (spaceship management game). The premise of the game is the fact your FTL engine somehow screwed up reality and broke the moon, leading to WWW3. The horror of the game is revealed that your allies and colleagues (you are in a corporation) attacked and executed UN soldiers while being arrested. I'm surprised that Trump didn't make an appearance (however the CEO is literally Elon).

At first the Horde and Alliance war seemed more like some very unfortunate twist of fate kind of thing -- I think the Horde were tapping into some dark power that was making them warlike and attacking the Alliance without provocation, and the Alliance response was to beat them down and enslave them? Regardless there was a lot of nobility and tragedy and villainy on both sides, a lot of 'We're doing this even though it's bad because we're in a desperate situation'. I can think of multiple times the Horde turned out to be a bunch of real shits too.

But Blizzard at some point decided they had to get rid of anything even slightly Christian-seeming -- Diablo got similar treatment. Oh well, it happened alongside both games turning to utter shit gameplaywise anyway, so it's just as well.

Warcraft is a tower of retcons, really.
In Warcraft 1 and 2, the Orcish Horde invades from a different world/dimension. At first, slowly, then they widen the crack enough for a full invasion force. There is no mention of the whole race being corrupted etc - they're just an evil-barbarian race that spots an opportunity. (Indeed they lose in War2 because of massive internal backstabbing when their main mage takes a huge chunk of their forces to go raid a demon's tomb for more power.)
Warcraft 3 retcons the Orcs to being noble savages that were tricked/coerced into drinking demon blood, so the whole invasion thing wasn't their fault, really, etc etc. Also the orcs that survived War2 and didn't retreat to their home planet all got put in internment camps and literally got depression until they started dying.
WOW sets up the whole eternal Alliance Vs Horde faction issue. Since they effectively freeze the political situation to enable server PVP, they keep having to retcon or twist stuff to ensure that no race fully wins or changes faction ever.
