And so you show us some art that is bad. Thanks so much.
Not sure if I mentioned this to you, but she gets praised for being an "amazing artist" even though there are some things quite obviously wrong with them. I don't mean like "it has to be perfect" but that they're pretty glaring.

There's this guy who shows up in my inbox every so often because we both belong to the same club. His art is really awful, it's actually worse than Chris'. This guy always draws heads at a profile angle...but the rest of the body is always a head-on angle (except for the feet). He can never be assed to color his pictures either.

I have no idea who the fuck these characters are so I'll assume they're "OC's" (I hate that term: they're fucking fan characters).

I would not recognize this as Fievel and Mrs. Brisby if he didn't say who it was. That's really bad.

I can't believe this was accepted into the group. I really wish there was some standard for drawings.

And of course he has a foot/tickle fetish.

MOVIE OF TEH YEAR!!!!!!!

Wow, the first thing I saw when I looked at these was someone staring at Lowly Worm references before putting the pencil to paper, or even just tracing a few printouts and adjusting them to make them original not Original characters. I agree that the line work and even the shapes are appealing and organized. The makings of someone who has the potential to really become something great down the line if he keeps at it. He's just got to be coaxed into pushing those shapes a little more so they don't look like someone else's!

What a great topic! :D

What happened to DA, anyway? I can't remember what year I joined, but a friend at the time opened an account for me, and I think I remember it still being pretty small and tight-knit back then. SnapeSnogger was the most popular thing there, and was still getting her ass kissed by just about everyone. It was a good year or maybe a little more before she'd started getting trolled. Seems like a lot of the artwork was still pretty good back then, but the Daily Deviations were...as if someone had just chosen anything at random. I wish I could find it now, but I remember one day it was a photo of a mouth around a cucumber...

I quit for a few years, and when I came back, it was nothing but autizm-werkz, horribly drawn anime porn and disturbing fetish art based on characters from old Nickelodeon cartoons. I realized that before, you could submit something original and get a few people to fav it. Now it seems like nobody who produces original work can get noticed (without a nod from another user with Bieber-level fame). I decided to test this out by submitting a few drawings of the Chipmunks and Chipettes in a few classic fetish poses (foot tickling, plunger-ass, etc), just to see how bad it had gotten, and I suddenly attracted every kind of creep, and a shit tonne of autistics (a lot of them had actually said they were). I wish I hadn't shut down my account since! This would be the perfect place to share some of the weird demands, suggestions and (oh GOD) requests made by demented people.

One thing that really stood out to me is that the people who wanted the weirdest things were often the ones who just expected you to give it over immediately, and for FREE. Sounds like the whole place has devolved into a worse cesspool than ever, now. I'll see if I can remember and find some of the weirder people I ran across, and post them here. :)

It's funny, I've been on DA for a long, long while and I've never encountered those types. My DA tends to be limited to friends of mine, with the occasional random person commenting, once in a blue moon. Then again, I do original stuff -- there's a handful of fanart in my gallery, none of it fetish, but most of it is just my characters. Which probably explains why I'm so obscure. I don't mind being in my little bubble since it tends to keep the typical autist types away, except for the occasional times where I'm pretty one of my works has been added to someone's fetish folder. :\

That said, this shit is hilarious. It'd be an interesting to see what sort of weird demands people make of random artists, because there's probably a lot of them.

Well I think weeb-types were almost always there because early in DA history one of the co-founders decided that anime and anime-inspired pictures could no longer even be a candidate for showing up as Popular! on the front page. Or was it Daily Deviations? Oh well it doesn't matter.

Otherwise you've hit the nail on the head. While I have zero interest in it myself, my ex-boyfriend is a major tickle fetishist and would constantly request foot tickles. And when I say constantly I mean at least twice a week. In spite of lacking interest I would agree at first because why not, it's not any of the truly horrible/disgusting fetishes I've seen (vore, fart, shit, extreme gore, girl-on-animal, ect.) and I don't have too much better to do. I wouldn't post everything he requested to DA (otherwise I'd be much closer to having a thousand different Deviations) but when I would upload something (usually because he'd ask me to and get pouty if I refused) it tended to become more noticed than anything else I'd uploaded recently. I never had my stuff endorsed by a SOOPER POPULAR!!!! artist and I never draw ambiguous animals or Naruto and the Sonic style isn't my thing so even with the fetish request pictures my art has never showed up on anybody's radar.

I've not uploaded anything fetish-related since at least 2008 because I didn't want to be known as "that chick who draws feet being tickled" and it's showed that I get a lot less comments and favorites per picture these days (though also because I became burned out drawing so goddamn many feet tickles because my ex would make me feel guilty if I refused a request, and if I did a normal picture he'd immediately request a foot tickle, and if I had a request lined up and did a normal picture first he'd bitch and moan about not doing his thing first). But although I do sometimes feel a bit sad more people don't notice my stuff it's better than being known for drawing pictures of a fetish I don't even care about.

LEGOLAND....

Make that, Legoland Animal Kingdom Gardens Theme Park.
With no less than 40 safety rules, and about as many credits to every creator under the sun.
It's even got a Pokemon Park!

Maximum Autism, but I'm fascinated by how consistent his design style is from post to post, and the creative font he came up with.
All boldly colored with markers. We've got the next Mary Blair, here! :tomgirl:

Oh my, it's Mickey with....a banana sticking out of his face!

Aahhh, DeviantArt. What a website. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with the place. Yes, it really is hard to get your stuff noticed if you don't draw fanart, fetishart or both at the same time and there are a lot of weirdos who pop up asking for weird requests, but I find that if you keep digging under all the shit you eventually find a few diamonds. I have made quite a few genuine friends and even met my future-husband on DA too. We both have a great laugh over the weird RQ's we both get and the freakazoids that visit our pages. For example, there is a tickle fetishist that frequently drops by both of our pages and neither of us do tickle art. We haven't even drawn that kind of stuff as a joke. There's also a guy who has a fetish for feet/pumping gas pedals who follows my fiance just because he drew one panel of a comic of someone pushing down a gas pedal. No joke. And those are only two of the many stories I could tell you....

What the hell does any of this have to do with Lego?

And as for my dA experience. I'm normally on there to check messages, manage my favorites, and that's about it really. I haven't uploaded anything in over half a year or so.

Back to Casey Decker. Probably the least cringey among all the pictures here, but I pity Vaporeon he's holding. ;_;
