Yes, I was doxed and swatted in September when doing a stream talking about Keffals, a few days after I started the chudbuds fedi instance. The police have us on a list and I give them a heads up anytime I stream. For reference, these are the emoji that assaulted book:

What's with the Fediverse and emojis? I wasn't even able to tell what these were and I still don't fucking know for sure.

Well the first one is nuts camouflaged as fruit. The second one is nuts wearing a monocle, top hat, and mustache. The third is nuts wearing a metokur hat and headphones.

Emoji are serious business.

It's about the ethics in nut.png and doxing.

Emojis are a very controversial thing. This Jewish nose nearly caused WW3.

You made your own instance, which is commendable endeavor.
You decided to be very hands on with chudbuds similar to poast. I remember you saying somewhere that you copied a lot of their rules in the beginning.

When I think of places like FSE or DRC etc. the admins don't have to do shit (they occasionally have to ban a CSAM poster and that is the extend of their active moderation) it's up to the user to moderate his own timeline.
I have yet to witness any drama for the admins with the moderation less instances.
It's not a forum, the microblogging format work perfectly well when blocking and muting many users and since these tools are in the hands of the individual user there is nearly no need for moderation.

You and your jannies are moderating the timeline for your users, this brings you a lot of silly drama (since there are always stupid alliances on both sides) and you have to do a lot more work than with the "users have to moderate their own timeline" approach.

Why did you not take the road of least resistance? (is it just because you took your template from poast)
Do you enjoy the drama and the busy work?
What I am most curious about is, what your vision for chudbuds is?

All good questions. And this is going to be a long answer, so apologies in advance.

I think I should start by saying that I'm a relative newbie on the fediverse, so I didn't have any experience of seeing much of how other admins ran their instances before starting my own. So I basically just went with what I thought I would like as far as moderation policies, since that's really the whole point of making an instance--decide what YOU want. I was definitely never expecting the instance to have nearly three thousand members only four months later. My initial vision for the site back in September was simply to have an instance for people who wanted to shitpost, have fun and laugh at dumb stuff online, and that would be "drama/sektur" friendly--as the influx of Kiwis and Metokur fans was making a lot of waves on poast at the time and upsetting the established userbase. That vision is reflected in the first section of our about page, and it's still my vision for the site today. A cozy place for memes and shitposting, a place for talking about drama, a place for normies on twitter or elsewhere to dip their toe into the more "free speech" side of the fediverse. I'm not setting out to have the site become some massive behemoth of 20K+ users, and I plan to close membership entirely if we ever reach 5k. I like being able to recognize the names of people on my TL. The "family" atmosphere is much more my style as opposed to feeling like you're talking into a void.

On Rules: Yes, I used a lot of poa.st's rules as a template or starting point for our own, partly because of inexperience, but mostly because I agree with them: Mark NSFW stuff sensitive. Don't fedpost. Parody and bot accounts must be marked as such in the bio. Don't post CSAM. Hurting someone's feelings won't get you banned. Then I added several of my own. Those are primarily based on either my own preferences (like our rule on no loli/shota), or because as someone whose identity is known, I want to cover my ass to prevent any potential legal or other fallout (like our rule on dox materials). Our dox rule is rather lenient compared to some other places, I wrote it essentially so that we cannot be targeted for deplatforming by "hosting" dox ourselves. For example, you can link to KF threads that may have dox, but you can't post someone's address, or link directly to a pastebin of dox (or website "zero") within a status.

On Moderation: I think there are maybe some misconceptions about how much moderation we actually do on chudbuds. I lean heavily towards the free speech absolutist side of things, and so you can pretty much say whatever you want there. Most of the time, mods don't have to do much except approve accounts or maybe close a frivolous report from some mastodon instance about a no-no word. Occasionally we may have to ban a local user for breaking a rule, usually for something like stating they are a minor (we are 18+), or repeatedly making socks solely to spam stuff like I WILL DESTROY KIWIFARMS (that's been a common one the last week or so). On VERY rare occasions we may step in if two users are constantly fighting to the point it is becoming disruptive and dominating the timeline, and ask them to block each other. Defederation of remote users is something we don't do lightly, and is usually only done for stuff like remote accounts posting loli or pedophilic content. Defederation of entire instances is even more rare. Nobody likes to see a timeline filled with "this post is unavailable" shitting up half the replies. You can see a list of the instances we have defederated here. As you can see, almost all of them were defederated for Lolicon/pedophilic content.

For me, being as hands-off as possible is key. I believe in the concept that you should be in control of your own timeline and use the tools (blocking/muting) available to you whenever possible. I also want to be as consistent as possible with enforcing our rules. No picking and choosing which ones and when to enforce them, even if it's unpopular. We have a note on those rules which includes: "What won't get you banned: Hurting someone's feelings, Unpopular opinions voiced respectfully." And I stand by that. Want to call another user or even a mod every name in the book? Go for it. Want to say that Ethan Ralph is the most virtuous motherfucker in the sektur? Not a problem. Other users may slap back at you for it, but you won't be yeeted over it. I've had plenty of users who have gone hard at me with insults, attacks, even "jokes" about 'raping me with the boys while watching the Killstream.' None of them were banned for it. Not trying to make a dig at poast, but they have the same notes on their rules page about what won't get you banned, yet I've seen people kicked from there for reasons as silly as 'disrespecting anime'. But that's their circus, their monkeys. For my part, I want to be consistent.

On Drama: I think by virtue of the fact that chudbuds is sektur/kiwi adjacent, we are going to attract more drama than the average bear no matter what we do. Some people are going to join with the intention of trying to stir up shit or gayop. People there are used to bantz and shitslinging, and hellthreads can go on for hours as a result. That's probably a big reason why this thread is focused on us and poast. Now that I've been on the fediverse for longer, I've come to realize that other instances (even the ones who who don't moderate at all) are just as drama-filled as ours, but just in their own way. There are some instances who think p from FSE is a psycho (I get along with him just fine *shrug*). There are instances who have defederated others solely because they think that instance is an offshoot or affiliated with one they don't like. Right this moment, Nicecrew is having a Total Retard War (TM) with ex-members who left and made their own instances. But you probably aren't going to hear about that here, because it's not related to KF or the sektur. All of that is to say, that might be part of why it seems like you're hearing about chudbuds or poast drama more than anywhere else. After all, it is the title of the thread. For our part, we haven't defederated any instances over fighting/drama or silly personal beefs. I do my best to remain on good terms with everyone, and thus far have managed to do so even with instances/admins who have a reputation for being difficult to get along with. Hopefully I can keep it that way.

Again, sorry for the long reply but I hope this answers your questions.

I appreciate the detailed reply.
Claire, you are extremely gay and act like a mom, LOL..

I can't stand this for one second, unless I can't see the post because I made that little bitch block me or I blocked that freak personally.

p is definetly a complete sperg but I don't think he is psycho.

I hope n3f is alright.

She answers this but won't answer why her etsy page was full of one star reviews and complaints that she didn't fulfill orders.
If you've asked me this elsewhere, sorry that I didn't see it. @All becomes gunt did ping me about it in gunt chat several days ago, and I will tell you the same thing I told him:

-I had an etsy shop for a few years, selling crochet items and perler bead sprites. It wasn't particularly a busy shop, maybe $30 or $40 of orders a month at the most.
-In late 2021 I became ill, was dealing with a very difficult pregnancy following an ectopic and emergency surgery.
-As a result I couldn't keep up with fulfilling orders, and I missed the "ship by date" on a few (approx 3 or 4) that had been placed. I refunded them, they left bad reviews (understandably), and I turned off my listings.
-When ABG pinged me I saw that Etsy had renewed my listings automatically for some reason, but I haven't used Etsy in over a year at this point and have no plans or time to get back into perler or crochet in the near future. So I deleted the store entirely.

Hope that answers your question.

That's what a poor diet, minimal vitamin D, and too much screentime does to a person.

Candycrush would be more dignifying than running an internet daycare for Jim spergs and anime creeps
Here is the thing. That place is ground zero cancer as ive said many times already. We have all the jimwalkers gathering around there being faggots. Kind of like a concentration camp for retards. Its whatever i guess who cares but imagine the shame running a place like that and putting time on it. Couldnt be me.
