Actually there were a couple of times I've posted 'lol' but I was only smiling and enjoying the thread, not actually laughing out loud at it.

I do wonder, how many of them are actual scum and will write whatever they think will sell and how many of them are actual scum that believe what they're selling? Looking through the detritus that is Ali's works I think he's drunk the kool-aid. He will say whatever lie or half truth to get his agenda pushed through because he believes he's in the right. Someone like Taylor Lorenz will say whatever lie or half truth just so she can come out on top. People like Ali are far worse than grifters because it is a moral imperative that they do what they do. For Ali to not write a poorly written, high school level essay on how we are meanie heads that should be purged is a sin. To quote someone far more eloquent than I:

I fucking called that. Don’t give these creatures even the bare minimum when it comes to expectations. These people get paid to make shit up. You cannot hold them to even the lowest standards.

PS: I left the Fredrick Knudsen part in because to be fair all he said was that KF users generally hold an “anti-trans sentiment” because we see it as a sort of cultural decay. I don’t see an issue with that statement. The only thing he was wrong about was that it ties back to a “conservative bent.” There are plenty of non-conservative types here who hate trannies, it’s just easier to smear us when they think we’re a hivemind instead of what we really are; a large and shockingly diverse group of people tied together only by our autism and love for weird internet shit.

Are we about to go from "we have to stop these evil scum" to "we have to save these people from themselves, they hate themselves as much as their victims"? Sounds unlikely, but the incels have kind of managed it, at least in certain quarters. We're getting panicked headlines about the decline of men and the "sexlessness" crisis, and all this guff about how men are more lonely than they've been for generations. A lot of "these guys hate women but they also hate themselves" too. One feminist spent a whole article ranting about incel misogyny and fearmongering about a time bomb of incel terrorism about to go off, but at the end she said "As hard as it is to feel sympathy for these men we have to try to find some way to help them. Not for their sake, but for the sake of society."

So my follow kiwis, I ask you this: will society's pity be more or less annoying than society's hated?
