I see two options:
-Black thinks his long-dead show still has fans who'd want to attend a panel about it. He still raves about his show having been a super comedy smash hit (remember how half the Gen Zed trailer was about GNB?). Maybe he thinks the name Goodnight Burbank alone will attract hordes of adoring fans. We all know the man's delusional.

-Or he's more or less given up on GZ, at least for now. Instead, he has autistically decided to fall back on old recipes and give yet another try at reviving GNB. It's pretty obvious he sees it as his masterpiece, and it's the only show of his that got the slightest amount of success. Since he thinks recycling the same shit over and over will get it to work somehow, it wouldn't surprise me if he chose to try and raise GNB back from the dead one more time.

So I found an explanation as to why Black brought Goodnight Burbank back from the dead for a panel at Whedoncon: some of the GNB actors apparently went on to work with Whedon, at least according to the GNB Facebook page.

I check this thread on and off. Still no progressive tranny show yet? Gosh Hayden, those jokes must be taking out the last bit of his spoons. Or he's too busy doing it with trannys.

The transgender character on EastEnders is fucking awful by the way.

Or at least it can be the first show by a brick-headed ugly completely unfunny stroke victim.

I blame the BBC writing team for that one, Riley Carter Millington seems like a solid enough actor and could be decent if given a chance to grow. The Beeboid writers usually have to keep characters utterly static for months before they allow them to even SNEEZE in a different scene or storyline.

Some irony in the dude probably having bigger tits than before he transitioned, however.

Hayden is... what happens to ideas men when they aren't able to discipline themselves. They become basically ADHD style roving messes. Flitting badly from one "OMG THIS IDEA IS AWESOME!" scheme to the next. Black would've been, at best, a writer for some stuff here and there on TV if he'd been smart. Instead he somehow managed to abortively try to launch scheme after shceme but his muse isn't tied down and disciplined, resulting in stuff coming and going on the winds of creativity.

Goodnight, Burbank is probably going to be the only success he will ever have. If he'd been smart he'd have shifted over to working for a network and coming up with ideas, even if they were single-season shows.

As 309 pages of content show... he ain't that smart.

Nah, the tranny on Eastenders is on par with every other Eastenders character. Its on par for a show that's about two decades past it's expiry date.

Nah I'd say worse because he's so nice in a setting comprised entirely of bastards. Like the Beeb are making a hamfisted political statement (as they are wont to do)
