I'd venture that it's not optional. The armoured trolls in Hogsmeade seems to be an early boss fight that leads into the butterbeers on the house troon scene and then the introduction of a principal antagonist.

There's some voice autotuner in the game wher you can adjust the pitch and timbre of the voice but every reviewer that mentioned this mentioned that it's best not to use it now because it makes the default voices sound robotic.
