Something that should always be brought up whenever a liberal is promoting gun control is that the earliest gun control laws in the US (which are still used to legally justify current gun control laws) were designed exclusively to disarm freed-slaves and other minority groups.

I checked on this just to make sure, but as far as I can find it is not legal to open carry a firearm in Florida. For handguns, you can transport one to an outdoor activity that may involve guns (hunting, camping, gun range) and you can carry one on your own property. It is not legal to make a stop on the way to this activity. You can carry a rifle in a vehicle and make as many stops as you want. You need a permit for concealed carry. Why argue something using completely incorrect information?

From my understanding Florida is going to allow permitless carry for concealed carry, but thanks to the legislature it only applies to CC which sucks.

Also there was a book about "being black in a world made for whiteness" or something like that.

Oh yeah, and a book for little kids called "The Antiracist Baby". Seems just like it's "equity" instead of "equality", it's "antiracist" instead of just "not racist" now.

For my part, I have noticed a peculiar similarity between the doctrine of wokeness and the White Man's Burden.

I always find it bizarre when they say things like "the trans people in my life, and online" which implies a plural of both. Surely that's a statistical impossibility, with trans-people hovering around 0.05% of the population, or whatever it is now.

I mean, I've seen trans-people in real life - in the last 12 months, I've passed maybe 2-3 (it's unfortunately always obvious) in the street and there was one I spotted in an office not that long ago. I just can't imagine knowing one, let alone knowing multiples of them. It'd be like 'bragging' about knowing a dozen or so people with two different eye colours or something.

Could be a performative thing - gathering transwomen and transmen as some sort of shield. That, or they float around in mentally-ill and degenerative circles.

What is extra dumb is how trans inclusive they made the character creator with body type 1/2 and voice 1/2 instead of just male and female and you could pick if you want the witch or wizards dorm. Also though out the game they use gender natural pronouns for your character (granted that one could just to save on voice acting cost). All this "protest" shows is that trans people will never forgive you, but they ultimately don't matter at all as the game is doing gangbusters.

I believe the idea is that you shouldn't only not be racist, but actively do things to stop people being racist, or to mitigate the harm of racism.

I think this idea in itself is fine, but of course it goes hand-in-hand with a huge shift in the meaning of the word 'racism' itself. Originally, a racist was someone who believed that there is a strict hierarchy of ethnicities. Nowadays, the definition of 'racism' (as it is commonly used) has expanded to the point where the word itself is meaningless - if you use the term 'gypsy moth' for example, someone somewhere will seriously believe this is an example of racism.
