It's absolutely ridiculous. I know vidya publishers have raised a stink about Twitch streams disincentivizing sales of their games in the past, which I don't think holds that much water in the first place, but a single-player game like Hogwarts Legacy is definitely something that you could make that argument for. Once you've seen the whole game, there might be less of a reason to buy it yourself, though I believe that, as long as the game is good, that's more than outweighed by those that think the game looks like fun and decide to buy it themselves.
So here you have a couple that decide to stream the game to their audience, a game that they paid no money for, and even chose to raise money for a gay charity for the duration of the stream. They go about this in the least offensive way possible, and it's still not enough for seething troons like John. Fucking crazy.
Oh, and even if they didn't stream the game, it's not like it would have mattered. Right now, Hogwarts Legacy is the #1 game being streamed on Twitch, with thousands of streams up and nearly 400k people watching. One less streamer isn't going to make a noticeable difference.
