I am guessing that just about everything is a bluff. The plan was to extort money from Joe with allegations of abuse. Joe didn’t bite, so Dave just keeps adding to the story in the hope that eventually Joe will throw money at his useless piece of shit son to shut him up.

The problem is that Dave is a shit liar. Not only does the story keep changing, but he keeps adding details that no one asked for.

I don’t actually think Dave is a tranny. He consistently makes the bare minimum of effort to allow himself into the troon community. I think it’s just the easiest minority group for a middle-aged straight white man to attach himself to.

Depends on the state. Most states are one-party consent states.

Missouri is considered a one-party consent state. Also, in one recording I listened through, he told his dad he was recording, so he had implied consent anyway, although that may not have been the case for all of them.

So I think Dave is safe from prosecution for this. Extortion, however, is illegal everywhere.

He did mention that as a placeholder until he gets the actual venue booked, but if he thinks he’s going to sell anything as large as that, he’s dreaming. He should find a fringe festival and get some tiny venue in a vacant shop or something. He’ll lose his money either way, but at least this way will cost less.

There are so many reasons why this sounds like a terrible show. Who is Dr Muscato, why should an average person care that he’s abusive? I mean, for all most people know, Danielle Muscato and Dr Muscato could be the same person.

Secondly, Dave isn’t very sympathetic. He’s a fat, bald, middle-aged, middle-class, zero-effort troon. This is not the inspirational tale of some child born into poverty, fighting their way to the top under the worst circumstances imaginable. This is the tale of a grown-ass deadbeat man demanding half a million bucks. Again: why should I care?

A one man show that is basically a Dave rant of all the wrongs his father has done with no narrative structure or point beyond petty family shit will be so boring. It’s hard to do a solo show well. Does he think either he or his father is a big enough draw to fill a thousand seat theatre? Fringe would be the way to go but I don’t think this is about getting a show off the ground for Dave, and this show at this stage of development will absolutely lose money.

Realistically, why should he? Dave’s only bargaining chip was “I’m going to expose you as an abuser.” And he’s done that, inasmuch as a liar who is himself abusive can do such a thing.
