Not going to power level as I don’t think this a country by country issue so much as a sad reality - BBJ is clearly very ill. Yes, there are shelters that specifically save older animals. The crucial difference is those animals are realitively healthy, with easily managed health issues.
when BBJ gets a basic exam? They will diagnose her kidney issues and she will be put down. Both out of kindness and the cold reality that almost no shelter is going to spend the money to fix a 20 year old cat living in borrowed time when those funds can save several cats with minor health issues.
It would actually be significantly kinder for Chinny to be with BBJ as she’s put down. But of course she doesn’t care at all about BBJ.

This is actually true though, it at least appears that way. Sam bullies her because he is young, full of energy, and suffering from anxiety because he has no enrichment and his owner(s) are constantly screeching at him in scary demon voice. Oh I love a new channel arc. There’s no better way for the realisation to hit her that most of the subs on her original channel are dead subs, plus it lets us get a better handle on her real sub count. I still believe she thinks the subs on the couples channel are different to her main channel and want the Kuwait travel content. And the VIBs get another opportunity to pay her memberships for nontent. Anyone tuning into her for “healthy relationship with food” content is as delusional as she she is.

I have not in a while.
But I prefer to adopt older cats. They are easier to manage, they don't need to spend as much energy and actually enjoy their time alone.
Kittens are so cute in the beginning, but they grow up really fast and require a lot of attention.

Sam is a cute and very friendly cat, I think him being rehomed is likely but there's no way she just found a rando to just take him in. BBJ is screwed which is really sad. Might be interesting to keep an eye on Ottawa animal shelters in a few days though.

Not that I didn't hate Chins before, but this entire arc has really made me see her in a darker, more awful light. Slight PL, but I'm dealing with the possibility of having to put my 14 year old boy (pup) down soon and am completely devastated over it. I can't imagine just surrending him back to a shelter at this time, or not being there until the end.

She has been on camera with those cats for hours, upon hours, upon hours since she's been on YT. Usually, they just ignore each other. They've been living together for 5+ years, and now it's a concern?

I don't know for sure, but as a Canadian law fag, my best guess is, he may experience problems as a single, young Syrian an obtaining a travel visa to Canada.
We are often held up as progressive and like we let anyone in, but if you can't make a refugee case that is not true at all.
In fact, Salah would be racially profiled as too high risk as a potential ISIS operative just for being Syrian. And, even if the government analyst reviewing the visa application surmised like us, he is actually a coddled pussy who will never amount to anything despite having a good hard working family, he would be considered a high risk for illegal immigration (by showing up on a tourist visa and just never leaving unless caught- it costs us less to refuse him entry as a tourist than it does to deport him after).
He will especially send up red flags for possibly trying to back door his way in via a tourist visa by marrying Chantal 2 weeks after meeting her online.
Basically, he has no claim to refugee status in Canada, and he has no education or skill level that would make him a candidate for immigration here. We actually ask a lot of economic immigrants in terms of skills u must have and immediate cash you must have access to. If you are going to be a drain instead of a top tier contributer to Canada u have to have a real sad refugee story or be from a super oppressive state that jails ppl for looking at authorities sideways.
Sadly, for Salah, he was raised outside Syria (so can't claim a cry tunes refugee story), and even if he had been young single Syrian men are the last granted entry because of durka durka fear, and he has no skills and wealth that qualify him for immigration.
His sister came to Canada on a student visa to study. Getting into a uni program requires all kinds of documentation that says I'm a trustworthy high achiever. And it is strictly for the study period then u gotta GTFO back to ur own country.
Basically, the sister would be considered less risky to the Canadian government to issue a visa to than Salah.
And on the Kuwaiti end some people on here who have lived in Kuwait have mentioned since 2018 Kuwait has been finding any excuse to deport people who are not Kuwaiti citizens who only carry civil IDs. Once you are Salahs age there unless u have a job, or a lease, or student status, u can't just have a civil ID even if u were born there.
It may be he fears leaving when his civil ID may be tied to his likely Grey market perfume business (apparently some desperate for civil ID people create fake businesses to have a job to put on their civil ID application which has to be renewed yearly), and he is arguably as useless to Kuwaiti authorities in terms of being a drain as he is to Canada.
He may fear if he leaves on a tourist visa the Kuwaiti authorities will cut him loose when he tries to return.
Kuwait has one of the highest deportation rates in the world. Last year 10% of the population was deported (all expats I assume).
But, I would be surprised if he was approved for a tourist visa here in Canada. We'd be totally racist about that shit and assume he was coming to bomb us or more likely just be a drain on the system OR get a passport via Chantal's sponsoring him and then they fuck off back to Kuwait never paying Canadian taxes but flying back here for health care or old age tugboat later on.
And we would totally go with the ISIS excuse even if we just suspect he wants a passport and tugboat and a chance to visit Jim Carrey's home town.
