Dr. Phil - Today's prestream is sponsored by Pfizer™

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I am unapologetically necroing this thread with breaking news: Phil confirmed during his 21 June stream that he routinely gets acid reflux aka heartburn. The Mayo Clinic has provided a handy-dandy list of potential causes for this and I've highlighted the ones which apply to Pig in bold:

  • Spicy foods
  • Onions
  • Citrus products
  • Tomato products, such as ketchup
  • Fatty or fried foods
  • Peppermint
  • Chocolate
  • Alcohol, carbonated beverages, coffee or other caffeinated beverages
  • Large or fatty meals
Acid reflux is not a common thing as one gets older; the fact that Phil's having this issue means his diet is so shit that his stomach is actively fighting it. It's also not just something Phil can ignore forever because it can eventually damage the esophagus to the point of needing medical treatment or causing precancerous lesions. Phil may outright be giving himself cancer because of his love for pig slop.

EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: Phil just confirmed that he's had issues with tingling and total loss of sensation in his digits. Once again the Mayo Clinic is here to help a bunch of Internet trolls laugh at an autistic shut in with potential causes:

Brain and nervous system conditions

  1. Cervical spondylosis
  2. Guillain-Barre syndrome
  3. Paraneoplastic syndromes of the nervous system
  4. Peripheral neuropathy
  5. Spinal cord injury
  6. Stroke

Trauma or overuse injuries

  1. Brachial plexus injury
  2. Carpal tunnel syndrome
  3. Cubital tunnel syndrome
  4. Frostbite

Chronic conditions

  1. Alcohol use disorder
  2. Amyloidosis
  3. Diabetes
  4. Multiple sclerosis
  5. Raynaud's disease
  6. Sjogren's syndrome

Infectious diseases

  1. Lyme disease
  2. Syphilis

Treatment side effects

  1. Side effects of chemotherapy or HIV drugs

Other causes

  1. Ganglion cyst
  2. Vasculitis
  3. Vitamin B-12 deficiency

Going through this list Phil's issues could be caused by any of carpal tunnel, alcoholism ("alcohol use disorder" is the sanitized term for it), or diabetes. I'm only skeptical of it being a stroke because if that were the case he'd probably be having trouble just moving his fingers on the affected side. Regardless, pick whichever explanation is funniest for you!

Someone was saying before in the main thread that he tends to self diagnose medical issues when he thinks something is wrong. It's likely whatever medical problem he has will go undetected and he'll conjure up a temporary mild sickness for whatever medical problem that may be happening with him, but eventually he would have to visit a doctor if the problem keeps persisting.

Or he could over exaggerate and panic that he might die, but then when he sees a specialist, they'll say to him nothing is wrong and he can carry about his life as usual.

One of the two.

He can't go to the doctor. But he can take a day off for a haircut in another city.

Phil's life is a contradiction.

Phil's life is a contradiction.

Phil's life philosophy is very simple and reminds me of my cousin's three-year-old: If it's not instant gratification it's not even worth considering. This is why he has no problem going to an overpriced urgent-care clinic every time for meds he gets an ear infection but seeing an ENT specialist or even having a primary care physician is not worth it. To use your example, routine checkups are unlikely to turn up anything which the doctor can fix on the spot while a haircut validates his delusion that he's not going bald.

Considering his lifestyle and assorted complaints there is a very good chance that he has diabetes and hypertension which could be managed with proper diet and exercise rather than medication. But since this is Phil he'll only go when things get really bad and ignore any suggestion other than pills which let him keep trashing his body without consequence.

Not a double post when the thread has been quiet for over a week but Phil recently remarked on stream that "[his] hand just goes numb" and it "happens to everyone when you get old". This is, to use the clinical term, a fucking lie.

Stay tuned for the continuation of DSP Tries It: Untreated Diabetes!

Story of my own:
The hand went numb when I played way too much videogames with the videogame controller. Maybe hit a wrong nerve, maybe too much pressure over a way too long period of time on a muscle. And we know what Phil does regularly. That's right, rage blasting with a controller and no other input device.

Or I'm also getting old. Oh no...

Piggy recently explained that his calves are so big because since childhood, he has always walked on the toes of his feet, not using the heel to support his body weight.

I remember reading that this "walking on toes" phenomenon is an indicator of autism in children, especially if it persists past a certain age.

I know and agree with the consensus that he's probably not diagnosably autistic, just incredibly dumb, but it's an interesting observation that he let slip.

I don't know where Piggy got the idea that he has muscular calves, but now he's running with it, even trying to dunk on LTG for having chicken legs

I wanna see Phil try and squat just his body weight, not even adding a bar. As correct as he is that LTG has chicken legs, Phil has bitch tits and wellfare queen thighs, absolutely no actual strength.

We have a new self-diagnosis to add to the list: Eczema.
Here is the clip where he claims his left hand is "falling apart with eczema" (direct link, be a good troll and use AdBlock): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXsBFXvt220&t=2621s (timestamp 43:41 if it doesn't automatically start there).

Now let's see what the fine doctors at the Mayo Clinic have to say about eczema:
Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin. It's common in young children but can occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is long lasting (chronic) and tends to flare sometimes. It can be irritating but it's not contagious.

People with atopic dermatitis are at risk of developing food allergies, hay fever and asthma.

Moisturizing regularly and following other skin care habits can relieve itching and prevent new outbreaks (flares). Treatment may also include medicated ointments or creams.
Source; emphasis in the quote is mine. Just like the ear infections, Phil somehow got a health problem that normally only hits little kids due to his complete lack of hygiene. If he'd just shower more than once a week he wouldn't even have this issue.
