Brianna Ghey's body was found on a path in Linear Park in Culcheth by members of the public at 3.13pm on Saturday

A 16-year-old girl has been stabbed to death in a “targeted attack” in a Cheshire park in broad daylight, police have said.

Officers named the victim as Brianna Ghey, who was found by members of the public as she lay wounded on a path in Linear Park, Culcheth, just after 3pm on Saturday.

A 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from the local area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Locals paid tribute to the “beautiful” teenager who was described as a “very quiet” person.
Detective Chief Supt Mike Evans of Cheshire police described it as a “targeted attack” during a “busy day” at the park.

“This is a truly awful attack on a 16-year-old girl, who has sadly lost her very short life,” he added.
It is understood that Brianna was born a boy but had been living as a girl for a number of months.

Police say that they do not believe the crime is related to the fact that the teenager is transgender and there is currently no evidence to suggest it is a hate crime. Officers said that they were keeping an “open mind” as to the motive.

Sources told the Telegraph that it remains unclear whether the killer was known to Brianna, but they are treating her death as an isolated incident and they do not believe that there is any risk to the wider community.

Emergency services were called to Linear Park in Culcheth by members of the public at 3.13pm yesterday, Saturday 11 February 2023, after Brianna’s body was found on a path. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that the weapon used in the attack has not yet been found.
Brianna's family are being supported by the police.

The teenager had a number of social media profiles and thousands of followers, frequently posting videos miming pop songs whilst in school uniform.

Emma Fortune, who works in Valli Opticians in Birchwood, said Brianna and her mother had been customers of theirs since she started working there seven years ago.

“I last saw them last year,” she said. “Brianna looked gorgeous with her hair down and her make up. Her little face lit up when I told her how beautiful she looked.

'Her mum will be devastated'

‘When I found out she’d been killed it was awful. I was so upset. Her mum will be devastated.”

Residents said they heard that park visitors were asked by police who attended the scene whether they had seen a man “in a green jacket”.

A man said he’d seen police vehicles arriving at the scene, which remained cordoned off on Sunday night as a forensics team combed an area of the park.

Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to the park at around 3.13pm on Saturday
He said: “The park is very popular and is used by dog-walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

“It’s an old railway track with one main path that branches off further down. Kids sometimes go down at night with bottles of alcohol.

“But this is a quiet area normally, so it’s a bit of a shock this has happened.”
Detective Chief Supt Evans said they were “keeping an open mind and would continue to follow other lines of enquiry that appear”.

He said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the park from around 1.30pm until 4pm yesterday or anyone who may have seen Brianna in the hours leading up to her death. We would ask people and businesses within the local community to check any CCTV or dashcam footage for anything that may aid our investigation.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are working hard to find those responsible for Brianna’s death and we have extra officers in and around Culcheth supporting the investigation. We also have officers supporting Brianna’s family at this really tragic time.”

Obviously the local kiddie fuckers and pro tranny's are going to make the most of this boys death.

Just look at the speed at which all his coomer and online thot postings were scrubbed. That's not some grieving parents work that's Mermaids tech staff prepping their counter story and getting ready to dump the "true" story via thier fellow kiddie fuckers in the media.

Sick fucks, it's not enough to be part of this poor boys death but you have to rewrite it too so you can use it to push your perverted agenda.

What stood out to me is the blatant eating disorder body checking in all of their social media posts and numerous self-harm scars. This was a very mentally ill kid. This counters the trans narrative that if children are allowed to transition young then they will be happy and fulfilled and grow up to be normal, functioning members of society. It doesn't matter much now because they are dead, but perhaps their parents and peers should have spent less time feeding the trans delusion and more time treating the other mental illnesses.
Pretty much dead-on. This kid was a mess and his entire social media history is one unheard cry for help after another.

Horrible way to go, but maybe he'll find some peace that he couldn't in life.

It’s like a microcosm of everything wrong with society. Kid was clearly mentally ill, with extensive cut marks and an eating disorder and posting inappropriate, sexualised and eating disorder content on social media. Then stabbed by another child who is a feral animal. everyone involved has a family who has failed them
The mother has to surely (surely?) have looked at her child’s social media? If you saw even a whiff of this kind of thing surely you’d take action immediately? There’d be no more devices or internet. At 15 you’re allowed a social media count but parents have access. You’d be having some serious chats. You would not be cheering them on and enabling it.
These are children. As a society we are failing this generation in so many terrible ways. They aren’t safe in the park. They aren’t safe online, they aren’t safe anywhere in society because everything is so utterly fucked up.

Oh god. It's that obviously fake, pseudo-awkward, pseudo-Japanese, pseudo-tween act I know all too well. The silent, wide-eyed stare. The layers of makeup. I thought I had destroyed all my memories of it. But no. She was always there. Hiding. Waiting to remind me how dark and evil the world truly is.

I never in my most twisted nightmares could have predicted that some day Magibon would be dethroned for Thing I Hate Most by "Magibon, but male".

What? No we don't. We call Chavs "Chavs" in the North. I have never once heard someone use the term "Townie" or "Scallie".
Chavs is fairly new though I think? It’s not a word I remember using as a teen. I do vaguely remember charver- did it evolve from that? I didn’t think it was a noth/south thing.
We used to call them kappa slappers or townies. A bit further north they’re Neds or radges
Is this one of those things like asking what you say a tea cake is called can pinpoint your social class and postcode?

It comes from the romani gypsy word for child
Townies, neds, knackers, scousers all the same thing really

Townie is what uni students call the native residents of the town theyre living in.
Neds is Scottish and an abbreviation for ne'erdowells.
Scousers are people from Liverpool
Chav is short for Charver and originally meant an essex burbery fashion victim and now means anyone low class ]
Scallie is an old fashioned word similar to ned

Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Please posts as soon as the news drops that the 'girl' they arrested is a troon.

Has it been said whether the perpetrators knew the victim? I'm wondering if it was also possibly some drama that spun horribly out of control with people she knew. I know there had been cases in Burgerland of teens being murdered by other teens as a result of teen drama gone horribly wrong.

It's a horrible and senseless crime regardless of whether or not the victim being trans had anything to do with the motive.
So far the claim is it was a targeted attack but I don't know if that means it was premeditated due to a prior association or is used to indicate they instigated the attack rather than the party at blame being vague. So for example if they followed and initiated the attack as part of an effort to steal something that's different than if some manner of conflict kicked off due to some other reason. But I cannot find any legal definition of a targeted attack easily.

I personally doubt we're going to get anything like facts any time soon so assume anything claimed is pure rumour and hearsay. There's a chance if it gets bad enough the police put out an official statement denying some stuff but I doubt it.
Oy! He made a lot of funny videos while wearing a dress! So he diddled a few kiddos. Give 'im a break!
Neck would be favourite.

I've heard scallie, townie is less common but I know places that use it.

Cops'll go through his phone and puter, hopefully find out how many depraved weirdos were grooming the lil guy, and what school bullying was going on.
20 years ago he would've just been a gay boy. Would've left high school, gone to London, done poppers and ket and got a job in advertising.

RIP

On the bright side his parents have 44k gofundme now, sure to go higher as the TRAs make their offerings.

If the killers of that thing are dusky, generalised language will be used as long as possible.

If they're saying it was targeted, but not a hate crime, that also make me think it might be drama with peers that got horrifically out of control.

Bongland has pretty strict rules about privacy of minors charged with serious crimes, right? I assume that'll limit the amount of info released pretty heavily since the perpetrators are minors.

It was some time in 2004 when it started getting widespread use. Even if it's not a southern word, it's definitely one that was co-opted and spread by the southern-dominated national papers.

We'll not get names officially, at least not until they're 18, by which point nobody will care. The crown might push their luck and try them as adults so they can get a higher maximum sentence, which would remove most of the reporting restrictions. It's unlikely they would, though.
