A heated argument that exploded into a violent confrontation in Sydney’s CBD has gone viral online after it descended into a disturbing fat-shaming fight.
Two women were filmed by a man arguing with him over why January 26 should not be considered Australia Day because it supported “murder and genocide”.
“This day, is the day they [European settlers] came to the land … and genocide,” one of the women is seen telling the man.
“It’s also Australia Day,” the man shoots back, only for the other woman to return serve.
“Do you think the murder of people is cool?” she asks, saying that Indigenous Australians continue to suffer.
As he continues to plead ignorance, she suggests he may be “a bit dense”.

Panning his camera down her body and up again, he then says: “You think I’m dense? You’re looking pretty dense yourself I’m sorry to say.”
The other woman then steps in, saying: “Don’t f***ing fat-shame my friend.”
An object that appears to come from her friend’s hand then comes towards the camera, with the man appearing to respond by slapping her in the side of the face.
“Get the f*** out of here,” the man is heard saying.
A third person is then seen falling to the ground next to the man. It is unclear if they fell or were pushed.
“F***ing fatty, get the f*** off me,” the man is heard saying.

The confrontation seems to continue, but the footage becomes shaky and eventually ends.
The video caused a stir among viewers, with most agreed that neither party played an innocent role in the dispute.
“This is why you never confront people about sh*t unless it’s absolutely necessary. You never know what psycho you’re confronting. These idiots learnt that that day,” one person wrote.

A third person is seen falling to the ground in the clip.
“Regardless of what may have transpired before the clip started, self defence has to be proportionate to the risk posed to be valid,” someone else said.
“Just mind your business and don’t antagonise people. Throughout history, a rule worth following. Not sure why people think it might not apply to them,” another said.
NSW Police told news.com.au the incident had not been reported.
