>If you only knew how hilarious things are going to be for women.
Seriously, there is some quite concerning linguistic shit going on to erase women from existence. FLINTA, for instance, is pushed here in Europooristan heavily by the ivory tower inhabitants as an acronym to normalize and equalize troons at the expense of biological women. For now women keep that F (lol), but I don't think for long. This is all so crazy and mindboggingly stupid I suspect a reactionary plot to put women back into their place by subverting their movements and causing incredible drama.
A long time ago, I theorized that lonely and hateful men would eventually try to forcibly turn themselves gay so that they can cut women out of society. It appears I was closer to the mark than I thought.

Naw, feminists are all man-hating crazies. It just so happens that troons, who can't stand not being in the spotlight, need to be ten times more dramatic and insane to snatch the attention back. The feminist hate for troons is a case of a stopped clock being right twice a day; they hate troons so vociferously because it's an extension of the man hate.
He’s right. This is just like when right wingers go „muh based black guy!!!11“ because some nigger suggested that maybe not every single white person needs to be executed

Well, it is not necessarily the gay driving this stuff. If anything, they're much more hostile towards troons than your average internet affluent shitposter populating mongolian basket weaving forums. However, I can see angry, lonely men trying to invade female spaces to conquer, pillage and subdue. You know, the shit men always do when pissed off by something.

The part about slavery is the most ridiculous thing in this whole clusterfuck of delusional sperging.
Sure, the generation unable to prepare proper meals or survive 2 minutes without their phone, who get shell shocks when they aren't allowed to enter their imaginary identity bathroom is able to fight against violence of any kind. Keep dreaming.

I keep seeing them say that she gives her money to anti-trans causes, but I can’t find any proof of this other than her donating to Allison Bailey’s crowdfunder for her discrimination suit against Stonewall. And I guess they’d consider the women’s shelter she’s funding “transphobic”. Is there any actual evidence that she’s throwing her money at lobbying groups or is this another thing they made up?
I'm certain that they're making this shit up. It's just a new tactic that they're using because when you point out what Rowling has actually said regarding transgenderism, they realize that it's not enough to convince normal, non-Twitter addicted people that she's genociding troons.

For example, I had this conversation with a Rowling hater not that long ago. I quoted her very reasonable and rather tame opinions and he responded by saying that it wasn't her words that were terrible but her support for charities and political organizations that are anti-trans. When i asked him to provide some examples of these alleged organizations so that I could see what they promote, he couldn't name a single one.

We've seen tactics switching like this before from trans activists. When the Wi Spa incident happened, the troon supporters were chomping at the bit to punish the horrible terfs responsible for the complaints, but once the news came out that the troon was a creepy coomer with a criminal record they started acting like it never happened with the hope that people would forget about the story.

The NYT actually ran a piece that was positive towards Rowling prepare for the great REEE
Edit: sorry if this is late didn’t see it posted here yet

Trans activism is aggressive, over-the-top and is losing allies. I'm gay so I'm supposed to be a devoted ally. I am an ally but it's not good enough, how dare me suggest a biological woman really is different. That makes me a Trump supporter. Congrats to Rowling and all women who are pushing back on this ridiculousness.

Ms. Rowling arguably did more to promote children's literacy than any other author in history, and that should be considered her greatest contribution to the world. Her views are not transphobic, they are pro-biological women, who still don't enjoy full equality or representation in any space. Bio women can be supportive of Trans persons AND want spaces for bio women only, like sports competitions. Demanding equal access to every space when bio women don't yet fully have that is like jumping to the front of a very long line and then screaming at everyone who calls you out for it. Bravo to Ms. Rowling for using her clout and position to speak out. Signed - a pro-LGBTQ liberal bio woman

Rowling's position couldn't be more commonsense - sure, there are people who feel they have been born in the wrong body, and those people deserve safety, respect, and self-fulfillment, but biological sex is also real and there are good reasons why there are spaces for biological women only, just as they are good reasons for the existence of women-only sports. The fact that these innocuous views came to be seen as '-phobic' testifies only to the extremism of her opponents. But, the tide has started to turn, as evidenced by the closure of the Tavistock clinic in London (which allowed young people to transition without proper medical evaluation) and the fiasco with putting a rapist with male genitalia in a women's prison in Scotland (which contributed to Nicola Sturgeon's resignation). There will still be some screaming about 'transphobia' for a while, but soon we will be able to have an adult conversation about gender and sex once again, and we will have Ms. Rowling to thank for that.

And this is the New York Times, not Breitbart. Troons and TRAs have been able to gain a disproportionate amount of influence with their bullshit fear-mongering tactics, but their hardcore beliefs are only shared by a minority. Step outside one of their hugboxes where they have no control over what people are saying, and it's always the same.

I just got out of a very relaxing service where I didn't use my phone and I come back to this? Holy shit today can't be any better. This is too goddamn good. Every muscle in my body is relaxed and my skin is hydrated while trannies are especially crusty and seething. Trannies simply cannot stop taking Ls! It's a good time to be a TERF. I think I'll come out irl.

As much of a joke as troonery is, this is the part of putting up with troons that is NO JOKE.
Indeed. If more biological women knew about this, troons wouldn't be nearly as bold, obnoxious and aggressively pushing the envelope as they're clearly doing right now. There would be hundreds of thousands of moms, wine aunts and boomer grannies screaming bloody murder and they would boot out the politicians enabling this shit through crappy legislation. It would be over for the troons. No matter the flaws JKR has, she has realized that this is the hill to die on, and she's right.

Also dat male neckline. Like they did a good job making this look like a troon.

Okay even if I didn't hate troons, the voice acting was TERRIBLE.

Current Pozzload Meter:

British empire diversity:
believable for some tokens, but a little too Diverse(tm). They have a Uganda character who is very believable historically and fits the universe well enough because of Bri'ish empire status. The Pajeets are believable too but there's not enough white wizards to be reflective of the time period. Status: Mild Pozzed.

Gendering: I think the voice actors were just lazy and didn't want to record two transcripts of the same thing. It's mildly uncomfortable but isn't in your face except in weird dialogue. It makes your character feel left out and I'm losing immersion from this. Status: Very Pozzed

Trannies: 1 too many. Status: Very Pozzed

Homosexuality: I have seen none of it thusfar. But I do wish there was character romance options. Status: No Pozz

Modern Value Systems: thusfar none of it that doesn't fit in the universe that already existed before the game. Status: HIV NEGATIVE (but subject to change).
Homosexuality: There's actually a lesbian character Nora Treadwell, the old lady near the lake. She doesn't volunteer this information, but if you ask about the name she mentioned, she says it's "her wife". So, pretty Pozzed given the time period.

British empire diversity: There's not one, but TWO (and possibly more) east Asian characters: Mr Josh Gladwin Moon, who's Korean and Professor Chiyo Kogawa who's Japanese. I don't think the British Empire had much interaction with Korea or Japan at the time. It would actually make more sense to have a Chinese character or two, given the opium and tea trading and all that. Moderately Pozzed.

Academic feminism is already there. Women don't actually exist. A woman is a purely social construct with no basis in physical reality.

Naturally, this causes friction with feminist activists and social workers who ask the sensible question of "If women don't exist, then who are we supposed to be helping?"

Single individuals are fine, because people did travel back then (if for no other reason, diplomatic or business affairs), and Wizards have a much easier time both communicating in real time/short delay and going from place to place than everybody else. Now, if it were a whole section of the school populated by East Asians, that'd be something else.

Well, leaving university with a BA and refusing to ever return for more intellectualslop a decade ago left me completely out of the lunacy-loop... But honestly, I am shocked at the apathy. The same creatures who constantly nag about the empty milk cartons left in the fridge or are upset at why I am returning from the pub at 3 am completely shitfaced IGNORE this. I mean, if you truly want to kill of a part of the population, you first usually refuse they exist as humans or as part of and in the physical world.

The "my wife" thing is more of a period-inappropriate language than anything. An actual late Victorian lesbian couple would not advertise themselves so directly like that, but everyone in the proper social class would know anyway and they wouldn't mention because that would be rude.

And Britain had massive amount of contacts with Japan in the period. Britain was the greatest power in the world at the time, so it was, along with Germany, the main model for Japanese modernization. A ton of high ranking Japanese politicians studies in Britain, British experts were consulted on Japanese constitution (even though Meiji constitution ultimately took greater inspiration in Germany), most Japanese warships were constructed in Britain since Japan still didn't have the capacity to make them themselves. 1890s is the period Japan really started on the road of becoming a major power, since it took Taiwan as its first colony, so it was no longer an undeveloped country. Britain and Japan were already close to signing a military alliance that would end up being delayed until 1904 (And was the reason why during the Russo-Japanese fleet, Russian Baltic fleet had to sail all around Africa instead of through Britain-controlled Suez.) Since the Japanese professor at Hogwarts is a woman judging from the name, it also bears mentioning that Japan and Britain were about equal when it came to woman's education. Japan established a state system of secondary education for women in 1899, while Britain only established theirs in early 1900s after the Second Boer War. In a field like magic where there's no real technological advantage Britain would have, it's not a stretch that there would be a Japanese teacher in Britain. Korea is more of a stretch, but it was also trying to modernize heavily in that time period (but it started too late, was less prepared than Japan and was between China, Russia and Japan, so it was basically fucked).
