Kuwait Work Visa 2023: How to Obtain Your Kuwait Employment Visa?

This article has been reviewed by Wego’s editorial team to ensure that the content is up to date & accurate.
Updated February 2023

Kuwait has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world and no personal income taxes, making it an appealing labor market for expats. Construction, engineering, information technology, and other sectors offer numerous job prospects.

People wishing to live and work in Kuwait must first understand how to secure a Kuwait work visa and residency permission. We’ve compiled all of the necessary information for obtaining your Kuwait work visa below.

What is a Kuwait work visa?

A Kuwait work visa is a type of visa issued by the Kuwaiti government that allows an individual to enter and work in Kuwait. This visa is typically obtained by individuals who have been offered employment in Kuwait and need to secure the necessary authorization to work and reside in the country.

The process of obtaining a Kuwait work visa typically involves obtaining an offer of employment, obtaining sponsorship from a Kuwaiti employer, and completing various forms and procedures with the Kuwaiti government.

Kuwait work visa required documents

A Kuwait work visa, also known as an employment visa, is necessary for foreign individuals who wish to work in Kuwait. It requires a job offer from either a private company or a government organization. The employer must apply for the work permit or visa on behalf of the employee.

The requirements are as follows:
  1. Valid passport with a minimum of two (2) years prior to expiration date
  2. One completed current visa application form as issued by Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  3. One passport-size photo
  4. HIV test (AIDS test)
  5. Health Certificate: Obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases.
This includes lab test results for the following: hepatitis B & C, malaria, filariasis, syphilis and chest X-ray for tuberculosis
  6. No Criminal Record
  7. The work permit
Upon submission of the necessary documents, the employee will receive a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) which permits them to enter Kuwait. Upon their arrival, they will be granted a residency visa. After 30 days of obtaining the residency visa, the employee may apply for a Kuwait Civil ID.

Kuwait work visa application

The employer must apply for a work permit from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. Here are the necessary steps:
  1. The employer must apply for a work permit from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, submitting the employee’s personal information, passport copy, and NOC

  2. Upon receiving the work visa/permit, the employer will send it along with the NOC to the employee

  3. After the employee has received the 2 documents, they have to undergo a medical test in their home country. The test has to be done at a clinic recognized by the Kuwaiti Consulate

  4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will send a copy of the work permit to the Kuwait embassy in the employee’s home country. The employer should also provide the employee with a copy of the work permit
The Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs will forward a copy of the work permit to the Kuwait embassy in the employee’s home country.

If there is no Kuwait embassy in the employee’s home country, the work permit and NOC must be submitted to the Ministry of Interior.

Kuwait work visa fees

The price of a Kuwait work visa may vary between countries. However, to give you an idea, the Kuwait work visa price is USD 175 for US citizens (plus USD 25 for the police clearance validation).

From Quora:

How much time is needed to produce a work visa permit in Kuwait for an Indian engineer?

ETA: This timeline below is in regard to a highly-educated expat, with specialized skills considered critically needed by the Kuwaiti government, and who's large hiring corporation's HR department is doing a lot of the "heavy lifting" in putting through the work permit.
Remember: In uneducated Chantal's case her "employer" and "HR department" are Salah and Murad...i.e., "Dumb and Dumber, LLC."

Once you accept the terms and conditions of you’re offer letter, you need to send the scanned copies of your passport and attested degree certificates to your employer in order to issues a fresh NOC.*

(ETA: Information on "What is a Kuwaiti NOC?" is Below this Entry)

The NOC is the document that allows you an entry into Kuwait. Issuing an NOC takes 6 weeks to a maximum of 8 weeks.

If any public holidays happen to fall during this time period, there might be further delays.

If you’re an engineer, get you’re degree certificate attested from any reputed attestatation agency(urogulf, genius attestatation, talent attestation etc). Depending on the efficiency of the MEA at the time of application, this process should take about 25–30 days for completion. Be specific to you’re employer for an engineer visa, since it has many added benefits like visa free travel within the GCC, easy application for driving license etc.

Once the NOC is issued, you’re employer will notify you, and send the original copy to you via courier. In the meantime apply for a PCC at you’re nearest passport seva Kendra.

This should be issued immediately if there is no change of address from you’re last issue/renewal of passport. Else a verification from the police authorities will be required, which will take a week or two at most.

Once you receive the NOC, head to Khadamat medical Center to complete you’re medicals. They only have four Centers in the country (delhi, mumbai, kochi, and Hyderabad). Plan you’re trip to one of these centers and book an appointment online on their website(it saves a lot of hassle and you don’t have to go through a queue).

Ensure you carry a printout of the appointment with you, else it won’t be considered as valid and you need to be in queue, which may run into a hundred. You also need to carry a sum of Rs 12,000 cash(cards not accepted). You need to hand over you’re Original visa copy to them.

They will assign a random medical Center to you. It’s just a basic medical test with chest X-ray, blood work, urine test and a physical examination. This whole process should be done in a day. They will text you once the medical report is ready for collection(usually within 1–2 days).

Hand over you’re passport, PCC and the Original visa copy along with the medical report to any agent in your city (Akbar travels etc), and they will get your passport stamped with the entry visa.(usually 10–12 days. I believe they have a fast track service to obtain your passport within a time frame of 3–4 days which might be pretty expensive). You need to carry you’re original visa and passport with entry stamp for entry into Kuwait.

You will also require you’re original degree certificates, original PCC and contract copy for the residency process, once you arrive in Kuwait.

As you can see, the entire process from your offer acceptance to entry into Kuwait, will take a minimum of 3–4 months. The process is extremely slow and frustrating compared to other GCC countries, so do ensure you’re job offer is worth it, prior to travelling to Kuwait. All the best!!!.

* What is a Kuwaiti NOC?
In order to live and work in Kuwait, expatriates shall obtain a residency visa (iqama), which can only be issued on the basis of a valid employment offer from a private company or a Kuwaiti government organization. The Kuwaiti employer then applies for the iqama on behalf of the expatriate employee.
The employee is then issued a so-called “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) with which he/she can enter Kuwait. The employee will be issued the actual residency visa once he/she have entered Kuwait. In order for the residency visa to be issued, an extensive medical certificate is necessary, including testing for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and tuberculosis.
Once the residency visa is issued, the employee can apply for a Kuwaiti Civil ID (bitaqa-almadaniyah). This application has to be submitted within 30 days of receiving the residency visa.

...in other words, this shit ain't quick or easy...and, as we all know, Guntal doesn't/can't/is to stupid to do "complicated."

BREAKFAST IM BUSY 02/17/23

She's raging about FFG, Youtube is ignoring her reporting of her channel. She's calling the cops.

Confirmed she doesn't have medical insurance and couldn't afford HRT or be bothered to take it. Now she wants to stock up on it before Middle-East beeze.

Peetz is 'renting a room somewhere' and needs a moving van organising.

She doesn't feel safe staying at her moms because people know where she is, so she'll be staying in a hotel from the 23rd.

Still wants to put down BBJ.

Howie misses her 'so bad''.

No walk today - cleaning is exercise.

That Google pic is probably from Kiwi Farms, which is doxing. :story:

The cops had told her before that this was totally a criminal behavior and Youtube said Frenchie was running a hate channel.

lol, I still don't think she understands what people are telling her.

"It doesn't matter if its a Google pic! And the Google Pic is probably from kiwifarms, which is doxing."

I had to scratch my head for awhile to figure out what she meant, but I get it now. When she says "Google Pics", she is thinking of "Google Images". When we upload photos to kiwifarms, Google Images links to them. So she thinks some 'farmer took a pic of her house, Google Images linked to it, and FFG then got the image from Google Images. And that is criminal behavior, if FFG combines it with harassing Clotso.

In other words, despite having been told a dozen times that this image is from the Street View of Google Maps, she still fucking can't comprehend what that means. She just doesn't understand at all. She really doesn't ever use Google; it is alien to her.

Chantal might be forgetting she publicly accused her of driving by the house taking photos. If anything, the thumbnail is making the point she's lying.

Uh oh, @Null...yer gorlfren is threatening to report you, FFG (as yer co-defendant) and Kiwi Farms to the OPP
(Ontario Provincial Police) for a GoogleMaps StreetView drive-by "shooting."*

* i.e. "shot" by a camera.

It must be true love: Chins only files police reports on the men she wants the most.

Has Jersh ever caught a case in Canada? Could this be his chance to have an in-person meet-up with Cuntal?**

** lulz, just kidding...like Gunty would be in Ontario in an appropriate timeframe to show up in a Canadian court for any case...unless Salad kicks her fat ass out of Kuwait.

All of this is why no one should ever believe the various conspiracy theories that have Gunt running a scam or playing some long game. She has the IQ of mud.

This is the agency referred to which places super senior cats.

If their medical needs are complex, they remain at the sanctuary as permanent residents.
1676662993842.png

She's already sowing seeds to justify putting down her cat. "BBJ can't hear, she was shaking while sleeping, she can't get up on the couch, she stumbles, she didn't sleep in bed with me like she always does" and then BBJ hops up on the back of her chair effortlessly like she always does. Guarantee she kills the cat instead of contacting that senior cat center just because it requires less effort.

Now, can someone please explain to me why everyone moaned and complained for years that Sam would be better off with someone else, and then when he was finally given to someone else, everyone moaned and complained that she gave him to someone else? ENOUGH ALREADY! Sam is finally in a decent home. Happy ending.
This bugged me too, until I thought it through.

Everyone can agree that the cats are probably much better off - with a much longer life expectancy - with someone other than Chantal.

I believe we normal pet-owners are simply outraged that this swine could so easily and callously part with her “beloved” cats.

It only confirms what we should all know by now - Chantal will always jump through hoops to prove to the world that she’s a despicable excuse for a living creature. AND! she will continually outdo herself in the process.

ETA: These two lazy, entitled douchebags have less than ELEVEN DAYS left at the Villa, and from what I can tell, nothing has been done aside from “cleaning” the kitchen.
