My guess is that dead accounts make up the majority of his subscribers. I know there are a lot of people out there who just make new Google accounts every time they get a new phone, and then just resubscribe to whatever channels they watched before.

As for the slow unsub rate, I dunno, maybe a lot of people just don't get his videos recommended, and when they randomly do, it reminds them to unsub. Or he just isn't visually offensive enough to where they stay subscribed until one day they just clean up and axe him.
