Atomic Heart - Russian BioShock-Like Soviet Diesselpunk Shooter feat. Hot Robot Twins

Dev build leaked. Any word on how complete it is?

If you guys wanna try a soviet bioshock without the RPG stuff try Singularity.

I'm kind of fucking retarded, and I'm not really understanding how Atomic Heart is directly supporting the Russian government. Apparently they released the game under "VK Play" or some type of Russian alternative to Steam, and that supports Russia? Can someone explain this to me that isn't filled with confusing bullshit? Because all I'm really getting from this is an unfortunate side effect to publishing a game in Russia.

Good taste. Singularity is great. It's Raven Software's last good game before being sent to the Call of Duty gulag.
When I lived in WI and worked in the area we used to see the Raven guys at lunch. They all looked like they shopped exclusively at Hot Topic. We hired some of their devs when they started leaving, a shame I hadn't heard of Singularity at the time as it would've been fun to talk to them about. I haven't been to Middleton in about a decade but considering how it was going they're probably all pajeets and towelheads now :(

Game's pretty good so far, runs without issue and the gameplay is pretty fun. Kind of a mix of Half Life and Bioshock, MC needs to shut up and the devs need to learn how to do exposition without having me stand there and wait for them to finish before going on. Lack of FOV slider is dumb but supposedly they're going to patch it in.

I think what I appreciate most so far is a dev finally agreeing with me for the first time since sticks started clicking that clicking an analogue stick every time you want to sprint is fucking stupid.
Nudge to walk, tilt to go full speed. Feels good. Mario 64 had it right the first time.

I also like the security camera system. They'll draw enemies, but they don't raise the alarm level and call reinforcements unless they see you being naughty (fighting back). It's odd at first but it's logical on a couple levels and gives you more options for managing them.
Or you can just shoot them, which the game initially seems to suggest isn't an option, but you can and it makes this irrelevant. For once I wouldn't have minded if they were invulnerable.

Played a couple hours last night. Games been running fine on Linux so far.

Agree with pretty much everything that's been said so far. Wish my character would just shut up and switch audio back to English because reading all of the audio logs was getting annoying.

I like that you can refund all the character upgrades so I can mess around with the abilities without worrying about "wasting" points.

nah, there are confessions from many vets, they knew about the slaughter but had no other option, their co's would w40k comissar them if they backed down, that's why a unit surrendered with their commanding officer "curiously" missing back in june, from the regular CNN media perspective you'd think he went like a idiot but from someone that has been seeing this shit from the beginning, it wasn't the case at all, especially for the guys chained to posts with javelins back in march.
however many ukranian refugees are doing the jew which corrobate slav's main complaint, they are too entitled to be demanding the blood and money of others.
i don't live in plumberland but i can see all over yurope how ukranians are acting and it's despicably jewish with their women acting like regular women on wartimes, so much so that on facebook some polish feminists were complaining about ukranian refugees looking to leave the shelters they were on, calling them whores and everything because polish men took them instead of your regular turbofeminist polish women.

if it was a progammer then it still a loss, they can always patch/rewrite the fuckyness of their mistakes later on.
But GSC never did that. I was really into Stalker when it was first announced, followed the development closely. When SoC was released, people were disappointed. GSC promised community interaction, and a 1.1 patch that would bring playing after the end, and generally fixing everything.
They did community interaction for a few weeks, released a bunch of multiplayer fixes that nobody cared about, and instead of the 1.1 patch they finally released Clear Sky. Which sucked, bad. They embarrassed themselves by bragging about the depth of field effect, giving players the nearsighted experience. They dropped all talk about the 1.1 patch, and barely did anything to make CS playable. Alife continued being broken, the faction wars were fucked, and the entire game was written terribly and paced like arse.
GSC deserved their bankruptcy.

I noticed how damn near every enemy and boss we see was already in first trailer kinda like how scorn was 70% the trailer and game play looks.

Something tells me these games were tech demos or reels first before gameplay was ever in the picture, and having to actually make the game was the hard part that took awhile.

Either that or they're really lazy.

Apparently there was a rumour the devs made over a thousand AI generated images of the twins. It was just a rumour but then Mundfish released the game OST and it had a link to it (and it was taken down, notice the playlist has "one video unavaible") But the internet never forgets so anons saved and reuploaded it.

I would say about 30% of them are really good, 40% ok-ish and 30% real uncanny and not good. Sure makes the devs look based tho.

Also the music in the game in general seems real funky and imaginative. I haven't seen any hint of generic garbage you would expect modern AAA games to use as a sound. Some of this shit is straight up groovy and I might download on my playlists.

This is true for Atomic Heart.

the music is the interesting part because it's a lot of old USSR songs that they mixed the hell out of.

Played it for a while and honestly it kinda sucks. I couldn't care less about the politics, the gameplay is just bad. A pale imitation of Bioshock.

The game LOOKS good, but that's about it. The word that comes to mind over and over and OVER again is "clunky". Fighting and movement feels like you're going through molasses. Resource gathering looks streamlined on paper, but it practice requires meticulously picking through each area. The lockpicking game is annoying and feels unresponsive. Stealth is shitty and incomprehensible. Not gameplay, but the dialogue is badly written. The main character's VA... well, he's not BAD, but he's definitely miscast.

It's a turd. Don't waste your money.

I disagree: So far I've been having a blast of a time with it. The characters aren't as annoying as I thought they would be, combat is weighty and impactful (The destruction system for the enemies is very satisfying, especially with guns), the world and alternate history that has been forged here is supremely interesting and fleshed out, and I found myself in awe with most of the locales, especially the underground facilities. Unlike Scorn (Another game with an inspired art style and world), this is actually fun to play. To me at the very least.

Did buy it and played abit. Switched to the russian dub and I have to say it really makes the immersion better. Also the Nora fridge is fucking hilarious. Game looks good (though more a Prey then a Bioshock art imho) Combat is a bit clunky at the moment but I guess I just need a bit more training

Oh ffs, day one patch of 67GB to download, but Gamepass didn't download it over night. Guess I'll start playing tomorrow.
90GB install with a 67GB day one patch? lmao

I look forward to the first repack/crack releasing and getting the size down to like 20GB or something.

That's weird, Steam lists it as a 80 gigs install and most people have a downloaded install of 75 gigs on PC.

Fitgrl has it repacked to ~24gb but I wouldn't hold my breath for anything better because thats the Dev build from 4 months ago that leaked and the current stuff has (((denuvo))) on it. I'm tempted to download it because lol paying but so far people say the dev build is very poorly optimised and requires a ton of extra tweaking. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Maybe if the insane Russian, Empress tackles it after Hogwarts we'll see what happens but I doubt it.

I can def confirm it, I didn't have any crashes with the dev build, but I think it auto-sets on the hardest difficulty or something. Because it didn't let me pick at what difficulty I wanna play the game.

Cool opinion faggot, maybe disclose that you only played for 10 minutes though.
"The lockpicking game", lol.

Some of these things take a second to get used to (like the loot vacuum, definitely awkward at first) and the initial parts of the facility are pretty lame. It improves rapidly after that. I didn't know Bioshock had fanboys though so I've learned something

>no weirdly shaped booba
>no fucked up hands

calling cap, even the most talented ai fatso can't fix oddly oriented booba that AI does or even fucked-up hands that look like they bend in ways not humanly possible unless they make a CRACK noise.
if they did it with AI then they had someone to fix these fuck ups.
Well I have heard there is a 6 hour sex scene from the Steam reviews.
that's the SPM version, fren...

mostly localization files, i can recommend for you to wait until the codex release since the insane tranny empress is having a meltdown.
