Yeah it seems like a lot of troons assume they'll be able to bully their way into support. But things seem to be changing and people seem to be standing up more. People seem to be being pushed away from pro-troon stuff, especially governments, which is really important.

You know, there are times when I wonder why I still post on this site. My immediate reaction to a lot of lolcows is pity and occasional laughter, not the sort of mean-spiritedness that I see in some of the responses to certain threads. Nor do I like moralizing all that much, which is something else I see sometimes as well.

Then I come into this thread thanks to the link on the front page of the forum and I see this wonderful example of sheer coping and seething in youtube video format. Thank you for this hilarity, Jim. In addition, all of the good posters in this fine thread may have this as the only reasonable reply I can think of to the delusional man-tittied britbitch and his utter refusal to accept reality.

Different person from the UK, non-binary they/them but I'm like 90% sure she's an actual woman. Also pretty sure they're not legally married either.

At this point I think this could potentially be less a problem of people unsubscribing and more one of a failure to bring in new viewers, with the progressive decline being Youtube unsubscribing the inactive accounts that make up the majority of Jim's subs (which Youtube does).

Genuinely think for a second about what someone who's never heard of Jim Sterling must think upon clicking on one of his videos.
You don't know much about the trans nonsense, you don't know his history or why he's doing anything he's doing, you have no idea that this guy was once a respected outsider games journalist, just some fat deranged British nutcase in drag ranting, prancing, and making weird comments.

Really envision it. You'd wonder if the algorithm was trolling you.

Their “allies” will never openly turn on them. What’s gonna happen is that, past a certain point, they’ll just silently and subconsciously withdraw their support and only pay lip service when it is explicitly demanded of them, because their “allyship” was ALWAYS performative. The “allies” themselves might not even know this, they may have gaslit themselves into believing that they really care about troons, but when push comes to shove they will do what is most convenient for them: nothing at all, except for empty promises of thoughts and prayers.

According to Social Blade, Jim was getting 6 million views a month 3 years ago. Now it's only 1 million views a month. The decline has been occurring a long time.

I think they see themselves as aristocracy: they are beyond all scrutiny and can do no wrong. "Allies" are servants who must maintain certain standards to keep their position.

Weekly shows can work if you have a particularly nuanced perspective, performative ability, and/or put in production value to make it worth the wait. Jim's streams have become more predictable, less performative and entertaining, and are unbelievably fucking lazy - especially considering he offloads the editing to other people entirely now.

I can't stress enough that people will watch someone talk about literally anything by the millions on YouTube as long as you are sharing genuine passion. I've watched a two hour long video multiple times where a highly autistic man explain how he beats every level in a 25 year old video game pressing the A button half a time.

The passion just isn't there. Jim hates games, hates gamers, and hates doing the Jimquisition. He does videos to keep the Patreon up and to advertise his wrestling.

I'm not sure whether youtube does like big ban/deletion waves like other sites or if theyre smaller account deletions. So it is certainly possible, but yeah i'd say its gonna be largely people going 'oh yeah i wonder what happened to jim' and then going 'oh no'. or just getting fed up. I got fed up probably 4-5 years ago now when i noticed a hint of malice towards his audience/gamers

I think for me it was the Dead or Alive beach volleyball thing that was the big 'time to unsub' moment. typically though I would resub later if the content was still mostly good but it got way worse

What mod was Jim talking about that added transphobic trolling in place of the "trans" character in Vampire Survivors?
Tried searching the thread and a few mod websites but nothing came up.
