Jaron Seth Bloshinsky / Jazz Jennings / I Am Jazz - Puberty Blockers: Not Even Once

I truly don't know what to think of this. Jeanette is almost hysterically overprotective of Jazz when he's living normal life as a young person, but she's like "nope, all my other kids were doing this on their own" about college.
This one is easy. She's truly a malignant narcissist. People throw around "narc" a lot but Jeanette is the real thing. She narc'd his dick off. She gets overly involved (not actually protective, just negging and meddling and concern-trolling) because she can be up in his business and make it all about herself and her feelings.
But why would she care about his college life and choices? That's stuff she doesn't know enough in order to constantly interject, demean, and hijack. What if he was interested in sociology vs anthropology? Or English lit vs Linguistics? Jeanette would be at a loss, so she doesn't give a shit. If it doesn't contribute to the narc supply, she simply does not care.

Sander excited for dick-inspection day.
Every day is dick-inspection day in that household.

I honestly think Jazz is just kind of lazy and doesn’t want to do any work. He’s not expressing a desire for a different kind of academic environment. Just spouting meaningless platitudes like “you don’t need a degree to be successful.” While that’s true, Harvard is at least gonna handhold him much more than other schools. If he drops out I don’t think he’s going to redirect his energy in a more positive way. I think he’ll just rot away under his parents’ roof.
Outside school, Jazz's gonna try to do what he's always done his whole life: being a poster boy for trans issues. Just like Sander. It's not like he wouldn't do anything productive: he thinks he's productive and helpful just by existing as a trans person. The problem would be, I think, that unless TLC keeps paying him for the show, I doubt he can make much money from it. He's not longer a novelty and everybody can see that he's a failed experiment. Any of this show "friends" can pass much better as the surgery being at least not a complete disaster. Jazz is what happens when it all goes wrong.

Maybe that's the reason why he doesn't like Harvard. He's never learned to earn respect and satisfaction, he's always been praised for not killing himself and hold up. In Harvard, he has to work hard to earn anything, from praise to good grades. I don't blame him for thinking he could do better by capitalizing on his own identity. He might even have a point, but I doubt he's smart enough to actually do it. Sander's fully functional and I haven't yet seen him earn one single penny doing activism or tiktoks.

It’s still men, like Yash, that seem to get Jazz a little flustered and desiring physical intimacy.
Despite Jazz is not an AGP, I think what he feels is similar to why he feels more excited to date men than dating women. It's part of his identity as a "girl" that he must date guys and it validates him as a woman to do so. Jaron dates women, but Jazz dates men.

Every "female" bit of him is a learned behavior, and it's sadly learned by observing gay men or drag queens. When he walks like a woman, he walks like a drag queen. His own name isn't even a real name, but something a drag performer would call himself. He's learned to like men, we might never know what he really likes.

So Jazz wants to chuck the idea of a degree from Harvard... How much does a career as a trans activist pay? For that matter, how much does Sander make as an influencer? It seems to me that the parents' basement will need two bedrooms.
Depends on how high profile you are. Jazz has a fairly successful tv show. Keffals just scammed his followers for $100k. It can be fairly lucrative.

Another issue is, Jazz is very isolated. He hasn't made any real friends since his elementary soccer days. It's probably not attraction he's feeling when he gets flustered on those "dates". This guy needs social interaction in the worst way. He only has meaningful interactions with people he's known since birth.

He "gets flustered" on dates because he's a straight man who doesn't want to kiss or even date a man...

As for money, again, the Jennings offspring don't have to worry about that; I'm sure they all have trust funds. Ari and Griffen are pursuing careers because, to their credit, or possibly to please mommy by supporting LGB etc. in their own fashion, they want to and not because they have to for sustenance.

As normal as Ari seems, it would be interesting to know what brand of psychology she plans to practice within what area of specialization.

So here we are. This show is nothing but enraging any more. Jazz is so mentally crippled that he wants to leave Harvard and have a career of "Being Jazz". You could see the horror on Jeanette's face when she realized that what was happening made it look not like she had done all the right things to make Jazz a success, but that Jazz is perhaps completely incapable of doing life. Jazz turned down the date that was actually into him, choosing the one that wasn't instead. Jazz was just going through the motions of trying to have a summer romance.

Yeah, not really sure if Jen looked that horrified because she could see the prestige of a Harvard kid slipping through her fingers, or because she got a flash forward into a future where Jazz is 30, unemployed, asexual and lives in the basement… But either way it was entertaining to see!

Also, fucking LOL at how out of touch with reality Jazz is. The poor guy thinks that he will always have a TV show, and just by posting on Instagram and basically being alive, he’s an “activist”.

He’s really mentally stunted, isn’t he?

Any indication of what Jazz is studying? Also, doesn't he have a major advisor to help him pick his classes? I never had a semester in school where someone wasn't required to sign off on my course plan just in the interests of moving me out the door at some point. (E.g. "You should be graduating in Spring of '25 but you need three math classes before then so maybe you should take math instead of history next semester.")

I think his "interest" in women is not only that he's asexual (read: actively sex-repulsed) but he's scared of fucking a dude. And I would be too if I were him.

Sex as a normal woman is potentially embarrassing enough, but worrying that your hooha might summon Gozer is next level.

I’m all for tradwifes, but the Jennings’es are really solid proof of kids needing a father and a masculine presence.

I guarantee-fucking-tee you that they would have been less fucked up, much more emotionally secure and wouldn’t constantly fight for Jen’s approval, if their dad had been there more when they were little.

Heck, Jazz might not have trooned out either.
But for most of history, the man of the house was around for significantly less time than even Greg presumably was, while the mother/female figure was around for at least as much as Jeannette.

Hell there are countless kids that grow up fine without their fathers being everpresent but still providing.

I think the crux of the issue is the narc mom committing munchausen by proxy. And the fact that greg is such a pushover just synergizes with that fact and makes it that much worse. At least if Jeannette was the ideal mother, who just happened to take more initiative than her husband, i think they wouldve been fine. Obviously not ideal to have a pushover father, but at least if he would provide anything needed materially than he would be doing more than most, and a good mother would make up for that lack of guidance or what have you.

The difference is that the mothers knew what being a man was and they raised the kids to be the "man of the house" when the father was absent. Society as well treated them as young men.

Women know sit to watch Drag Race with their sons and tell them that's a the role model to become.

I was going to say that also men of that era, when they were around their kids and grandkids, tried to model masculinity then. Take the boy duck hunting, etc.

It's interesting that living in an era when in some ways there has been a collapse of traditional gender roles promotes this shit more than eras when women were actively discouraged from professional aspirations and men were heavily stigmatized against being stay-at-home parents.

Be a man who wears muumuus and bakes cupcakes and still identifies as a man? x
Be a man who cuts his dick off and troons out and larps as a woman? v

Season 8, Episode 5 just dropped. Here's a recap.

Jittery Jazz almost gets a panic attack at a restaurant before a date. The producer hands her some pills. Unflattering dress makes her look like she's about 6 here.

Jazz is really taken in with Yash's mature and profound platitudes. Looks like his nose has a huge beetle on it or a malignant melanoma. Looks eerlily like brother Sloppy Sander as well.

yash.png

Yash doesn't really call back. The family goes on an outing. Jazz hogs the middle seat. The brothers are excited and so is grandpa.

family.png

At goat yoga, the goats climb over Jazz and Sander in sexually suggestive positions. A drop of rain forces Grandma to hide under a tree. Sander is the only who seems to take this seriously ffs.

Jazz tries her luck at speed dating. JoJo drives them... not once but twice into a traffic cone.

cone.png

Everyone at speeding dating is a loser. Jazz is paired with a 35-year-old man who barely speaks English ("I have 35") who looks like the guy who will play Andrew Tate in the Spanish language adaptation. Serial killer vibes for sure.

tate.png

Jazz doesn't feel like she wants to go back to Harvard. She's nervous about telling the parents. The whole thing seems contrived, just another thing to cram into this boring episode.

We're left with a teaser for a fake hate crime in the next episode.

THE END

Ffs man, that tiny head on top of that mountain of a body gets me every time.

You don’t really realize how MASSIVE Jazz is though, until there’s an actual woman in the frame with her.

Just try and look at how small grandma Troon’s head is when she’s sitting next to Jazz for example.

Ash unfortunately is caught in what is also known as the cuck-paradox.

The one thing that can cure her of being ensnared by Sander, is a thorough dicking.

Which, given that Sander is a giant cuck, is sadly also the last thing she will get.
I wonder if Sanders knows what it means when a girl says the sex they just had was "nice"?

The porno law clip. Sander is a punchline. What little will he has left to live vanishes from him. Look at his sad face.
This is a great insight into Jeanette. - She is openly mocking and being disrespectful to her son on television.
Jazz, you can wax yourself at home, you know?
He probably can't reach.
Doesn't anyone notice that Sander is dysfunctional not because he's born this way, but because for a child in such a well off family he's neglected and abused???
Dude needs some sympathy and guidance, but being so sheltered and conditioned it's unlikely He'll accept the help.
Sanders is a victim in the same way that Muslims are victims of their culture. Ultimately, you have to hold them responsible for their own behaviour.
He’s definitely better looking than his 3 sons
Are they his, though?
A drop of rain forces Grandma to hide under a tree
Yes, because the bitch would melt like the Wicked Witch of The West.

Agree, though to be fair grandma weighs about 75 pounds and is a bit of a bobble-head. If we could fuse them you'd end up with 2 proportionate-if-a-bit-plump middle aged ladies with longish hair that's poofy on top....Wait, fuck, that means 2 more Jeannettes. Nevermind.
