Should fat people be allowed to have pets?

Extremely fat Canadian Chantal Sarault aka FoodieBeauty has just given her cats up for adoption and the person who adopted the cat is allegedly another deathfat who is even fatter than Chantal still due to being bedbound. A fat army of catlady has descended upon me and threatened to sit on me because I pointed out that this might not be a big improvement for the cat since fat people are bad pet owners. Since this topic has caused a great upset so I thought it would be a fitting topic for debate.

My reasoning:
1. Fat people can't even take care of themselves so clearly they shouldn't be in charge of caring for others
2. There is a great danger they might sit on the pet, ending it's life prematurely
3. Fat people don't just neglect themselves, they also neglect their environment and often live in filth
4. As evidenced by Peetz and Chantal they will neglect the pet's health because they are too fat and lazy to go to the vet
5. They might eat the pet-food if they are hungry and leave the pet with no food
6. If they get extra hungry they might even eat the pet itself
7. They are too fat to bend down and clean a litterbox or pick up a dog-poop cause their gut is in the way

What are your thoughts on this? Please include your BMI in your reply.

Let's just expand this to: Anyone with severe addiction problems shouldn't be allowed to own pets. Whether it's food, drugs, sleeping around, or even playing video games. If you can't budget your time properly, if you don't have control over your own mind, you shouldn't be allowed to hold dominion over something vulnerable like a child or animal.

It has been brought to my attention in the Cadlady Chat that the type of pet also matters greatly and that we should also debate a BMI cut-off point. HOW FAT IS TOO FAT TO OWN A PET? And also could there be pets that are more suited for a fatty than others?

I have been thinking that while a cat or a small shitty dog are in too much danger to be sat on, there are animals that could avoid a big fat ass coming their way a lot better. I would like to propose the Chimpanzee as the ideal fat woman pet. Not only can he move out of the way easily, he can eat your face if you forget to feed him out of lazyness and he can also be trained to wipe your ass for you.

Edit: It seems that fat woman have aready had this thought way before me

BMI? Fuck that.
13% body fat here.
Fat people should be allowed to hit the gym and lose weight.
If the gym has pets they can pet.

Only if they can still walk it regularly, pick up after it and will not neglect it. IDK if I can set hard and fast BMI rules but bedbound is too fat to care for a pet.

On the one hand, I understand the reasoning but on the other hand most of the people who seem to commit animal cruelty aren't very fat if at all. Guess it should be on a case-by-case basis.

they also shouldnt be allowed to have kids. not only for the reasons listed for pets, but also ive yet to see a fat couple who did not also have fat, ugly, stupid, and misbehaving children.
Nature takes care of that, for the most part. It seems bad now, but imagine if someone Chantal size could get pregnant and deliver a baby

Allowed legally? Yes. Morally / in practice? Maybe, it really depends whether they can arrange for the pet to be taken care of

Obesity is a physical symptom of mental illness. The mentally ill should not be allowed to be near animals unless the animals are for service.

How would you even enforce something like this?
Would you need a UK-style pet license?
If some fat bastard finds an abandoned kitten on their way home from Burger King and decide to take it in, will they be swatted by the Pet Police?
What a dumb question.
