It keeps astounding me that people like this guy, who openly post very violent things and literally have in their profile "I WILL KILL THESE SPECIFIC PEOPLE" are not decried, pointed out or otherwise generally seen as unhinged.

The people who play villains are usually capable of understanding/empathizing with alternate viewpoints because it helps them play their character well. They can entertain opposing ideas even if they don't personally agree with them, because they have to get into the headspace of someone disagreeable to do their job. (not saying Rowling is disagreeable)

I don't really follow Rupert didn't even know he's not usually political. Unlike Daniel and Emma who are very political. Simply because I don't follow the guy or really wondered what he was up to for years. it wasn't until the J.K Rowling thing did I hear his name again

I've been visiting the site for over fifteen years now and it's become a lefty haven. Oh, the main parts of the site dedicated to the forum's point are still fairly decent, I am thankful for it. But you go to the non-AH portions of the site and you get full-assblasted by one of single largest batches of incel-to-troon losers I've seen in one place. I can say right now that I've seen enough of these troons that despite their hemming and hawing on being Marxists and all about equality, economic injustice, The Revolution, whatever... they are the complete epitome of spoiled, soft middle or upper-class white soyboys who wouldn't last five seconds in any serious physical exertion or all-white gated community. The mod team themselves are your typical liberal shits who think they're being ever-so-fair but really just follow the current causes-du-jour in an attempt at keeping the site free from 'hate', and know they have total power to enforce their views as the only real game in town for this niche hobby.

Bear in mind that for Tolkien, "Semitic" meant more than just "Hebrew", since there's a whole family of Semitic languages (and if he based dwarvish on Semitic phonology he... went some weird places with it). And he doesn't confirm the interviewer's assumption there either, since he didn't necessarily take any traits from real world ethnicities they based his languages on.

Dude, the funny thing is, I tried to talk sense with them. They are way far gone. However, when I got actually aggressive with them, they ran away crying like little kids. And it is almost every time. They call me a bigot, saying my country is barbaric and not educated. I just call them ugly, balding community, or make new pronouns for them like Lard/ass, Penis/havers, Breast/choppers lmao. They attack women who are polite and civil. I have tweeted directly at them and argued with them aggressively, and they all run away crying in their holes...or the holes that were poles earlier. I did the same in youtube comments. At one point, they stop replying.

I actually enjoy Tasting History, and I was aware of Max and his partner (no clue if engaged or married). Afaik he doesn't get involved in any politics or drama which is nice.
