I’d say it’s a certainty that the democrats will immediately shift into “those evul republikkkans infiltrated the SCOTUS, and it’s *their* fault you aren’t getting your loans forgiven!”

They won’t accept responsibility for putting out a shitty idea/plan that couldn’t pass constitutional muster in the first place, and their voters will just swallow the lies, act outraged, and won’t hold them accountable for their own fuckup.

Still, SCOTUS striking it down would be nice because it’d completely remove that carrot-on-the-stick for future campaigns. SLF is major, owing to it being a financial incentive to lure stupid and young voters (repeating myself there), who aren’t reliable, to the polls. Guess they’d have to find something else to ply them with.

This shit is literally just buying votes. It also ensures that college tuiton will get even more expensive because now the colleges will get their payments no matter what. And of course it is a slap on the face of anyone who either didn't go or paid their own.

So, the Establishment loves hiring from veterans who used their enlistment to go to college because they are already mentally primed for it. Because they then provide the second part of the deal.

The Military does not pay off all your debts, only makes you think what they pay will actually matter. You still end up buried in debt. So the Establishment comes along and advertises heavily how if you work for the government for a while the debt will be wiped away. Do notice how what was advertised most on debt forgiveness is that program. This gets people to work for the government after being safely formed into a willing, obedient solder for the cause.

Its a military to government pipeline that both sides are heavily invested in keeping going.
