A lot of them don't do the baby voice thing, and while Pippa sounds like windshield wipers on a dry glass, she has good content. Really it mostly comes down to the content. Even the homostars on Holo EN put out more entertaining content than 90% of other game streamers. I don't want to listen to some PewDiePie knockoff shilling bullshit merch all the time, I dont want to watch Charlie deadpan his way through life while being too much of a pussy to ever say anything too offensive and I don't want to watch retarded whores shill their actual tits just for extra cash.

Are there a fuckton of them who still do coombaiting? Yes, but that is life, and it's vastly outweighed by the Pippas and the Tenmas and the Botans and the Korones and the Rins of the world who don't do much coombaiting and are just based bitches. On the homostars front, I'd rather watch Magni white boy sing his way through Soulja boy and constantly have Wylie coyote energy than watch faggotry get pushed on TV in boring redundant plots, or watch Vesper evolve his way into being the world's most dangerous millennial autist than watch whatever sludge oozes out of Hollywood these days.

Also of appeal to me is, as this situation proves, the vtuber community is packed with drama and lolcow material. Between doxing pedos, animal abusers and genuine schizos to getting to watch normies turn against trannies en masse, it has provided enough milk for me I barely even pop into A&H anymore.

The biggest appeal of vtubers is that they're one of the few remaining mediums of entertainment which aren't trying to sell you on an ideology, they're not trying to make people support X cause or Y politics, they're just there to be entertaining and provide some laughs.

This is easier said than done. Streamer don't just play a game and have fun, they have to commentate and entertain.
It's hard enough to play a game and have thousands of yours supporters watch your every move and action. But now you these demons bombarding your chat and comments wishing you were dead.

Don't kid yourself, Streamers are reading every comment, no matter how fast chat is running.

Normally I'd be dismissive because they're a streamer or whatever and I have a pretty genuine dislike towards People of Streams.
But honestly, i think basic empathy overrides that. Nobody deserves to be harassed for being a woman and wanting to play a new game that came out, which is literally their job by the way.
I don't really think it matters what your stance is towards them, the act of playing games in front of a camera and being annoying is an infinitely lesser crime than this shit.

so it really varies from person to person but for me i find that vtubers or at least some of them tend to put way more effort into their content to compensate for not having their irl face on stream all the time. i also think its easier for vtubers to be their true self since as long as they have good opsec nobody is gonna know who they are irl so they dont have to be as afraid of being criticized for their interests.

this of course does attract lolicons and pedos in general but there are also plenty of vtubers who are entirely normal people who just dont want to have to deal with internet psychos running up to them on the street. which is understandable.

i think as long as you avoid the pedos vtubers are fine though it also boils down to what you find entertaining. its similar to how some people dont like tv shows unless they are animated.
