Current Event Reaction Whores - and The People That Eat it Up

Have you ever seen a tragic terror event such as the Charlie Hebdo attack, San Bernadino shooting, Orlando shooting, or Paris massacre and you're just left with so much sorrow, sadness, grief and pain that you have to speak out? You have to act?

There are many ways of doing this, donating blood, donating to reputable charities, volunteer work, and the best way:

Making a youtube video of your nobody ass, feigning shock and emotions while watching the video footage of the events! Hoping to capitalize off the views and make yourself internet famous, rake in all the attention, ass-pats, money, and surf on the tidal wave of blood to fame and fortune because fuck those people that died and their grieving families! They're not giving you attention or paying your bills, right?

I really shouldn't be surprised there's people that make "Grannys react to Virtual Anime Vore Porn"-Style videos with terrorist attacks.

I must say, that's really low, even for the already subterranean standards of general internet behaviour. And people look down on chan-boards for making fun of such catastrophes...

Selling a pony OC "inspired" on a tragedy, the joke writes itself.

Maybe I'm being too critical but I really don't understand who would willingly give ANYTHING to people that just try to cash in from a tragedy. Don't misunderstand me, making tribute art (even if it's simple or not very well done art) to vent off and show support is a good thing, but trying this blatantly to cash in from it or get asspats is just dumb.

Back to topic:
Attention whoring in Youtube, especially after something important happened, has always baffled me. Sure, they are obviously making it for attention but are they really getting a hard on just by knowing they were viewed by someone?. I mean, if it was a live stream I'd understand that they are being watched live by people so it's a bit more comprehensible, but just uploading a video and checking the views every now and then and fap like crazy with the "views" is just beyond me.
The people I hate the most are the ones that has the urge to tell you about their video in every single media they have;
Twitter "I made a reaction video, watch it here: aklsjdkalj retweet and fav"
Facebook "I made a reaction video, watch it here: aklsjdkalj like and share"
Tumblr "I made a reaction video, watch it here: aklsjdkalj reblog and fav"

Oh good Christ. I don't fault people for being horrified. But the, "It could have been MEEEE!!!" and not even one lousy stinking cheesy, "I can't imagine what the victims and their familys are going through right now, and if there was anything I could do to stop this, I would." No, it's all just, "Oh my god, I'm soooooo sad!!!!" At the very least, send someone your fucking condolences. Jagoffs.



Jesus. And to think I felt guilty for being so happy about the Penguins winning the Stanley Cup. (I am going to see if I'll be able to give blood -- I'm on several types of meds. I should be able to, but just keep your fingers crossed!)
