Sarah annoys me in a way that's hard to pin down. She's a harmless cow who doesn't really do much, but she still irritates the hell out of me when I read her fb postings. She seems like she'd be incredibly exhausting to be around.
How have her parents not stepped in and got her to stop going to the ER for this stuff?
You know she's crazy, convince her to go to an urgent care clinic or get a PCP and have them deal with it. At least then she wouldn't get charged thousands for her nonsense.

She's harmless because she has limited power, but she has a very controlling, domineering, jealous, and spiteful personality. Her number one priority in life and in relationships with other people is that they competely agree with her and play along with her delusions, and if they refuse or don't live up to her capricious expectations she coldly shuts down or has an emotionally abusive meltdown. She doesn't treat other people very well and in another life she'd be one of those bitches who constantly fires their PA because she didn't tell them she wanted soy milk in her latte that day and they brought the usual thing while starting a fight with her boyfriend because he looked at another woman the wrong way.

Unrelated, but I wonder does Sarah still go to women wellness checkups or get a yearly papsmear? I know shes totally not an honest woman anymore, but paps are such an important, simple, and fast way to screen for cancer and even the worsts of insurance usually have it covered 100%. It would be incredibly disheartening to find out one day that she has some ailment that could have easily been caught early on. It wouldnt have to be a disphoric experience either. She also seems to have a severe desire for peoples approval and permission. If you tell her something that doesn't support whatever nonsense she's talking about, I've seen her try to play the 'why won't you let me cosplay as so and so' 'i'm too old etc'

What is it with people who live with their parents that claim to be poor. If your parents that you don't even get along with, allow you to live with them past the age of 25 RENT FREE you aren't fucking poor.

Smaller cities and towns are far better for a mental case like Pixie. Big liberal cities might embrace wokeness but a person like Pixie would be homeless or over medicated in a gnarly group home in the hood in no time. You at least have to be street smart, have hustle and very thick skin to survive in a large city.
Smaller towns and cities actually get to know the local crazies and as long as they aren’t legit dangerous or insulting, tend to be protective, tolerant and supportive. Idk I’ve lived in large and small cities, ultra-liberal and conservative area. I saw a lot more care and compassion for autists and crazies in smaller cities (even if conservative) than I ever did in large liberal cities. The big city can talk a good game about un-housed and mental illness but I saw more action and IRL compassion in smaller cities and towns irrespective of their political leanings.
Reminds of a story a few years ago. Some rather large black autistic man was a well liked, long term local eccentric in a small conservative city. He walked the streets wearing katanas, ninja swords and tractor trains around his neck Mr T style (this was part of his autistic exercise and it worked, he went from fat to buff thanks to walking miles with all that extra weight). Some big city visitors were in town and called the cops on the guy because big awkward Blackman with sheathed edge weapons was walking around. The mayor lost his mind at the audacity of these city slickers calling the cops on the guy, and loudly vouched for his character. Whole city was pissed off at anyone messing with a local eccentric. (Particularly little old ladies because of the four sheathed edge weapons on his back one was an extra large umbrella which he would whip out to help ppl caught in down pours)
This would be true if it wasn't Texas. Mental health services in smaller Texas cities like Victoria are abysmal to non-existent unless you go private pay (a lot of decent therapists won't take insurance because of the horrible reimbursement rate and the ones that accept it can be dogshit). Not to mention the cops in these smaller places are usually untrained to deal with people like PT, mental illness in the south is still a very avoided and frowned upon subject. If you went to San Antonio, DFW, Houston, Austin etc it would be much different. Victoria isn't teeny tiny but it isn't a large metropolitan blue utopia either.
I am also a little curious about her insurance situation. By all means she should qualify for Texas Medicaid, and even though it's not Expanded Medicaid it would definitely cover most services at no cost to her. She is too old to be on her parents' plan, so she must be paying out the nose for dogshit BCBS through the Marketplace. Pixy should meet the financial requirements right off the bat (which can be enough to qualify on your own), but I could see her refusing to get evaluated for mental health issues, which is a shame because she would most likely also qualify for SSI or SSDI and other services like food stamps and specialized job placement.
This all seems very familiar though of the "My tummy hurts" saga several years ago where she freaked out about her stomach hurting and how she was dying, proceeded to go to the ER multiple times, ran up medical debt over literally nothing and upset her parents.
Mental illness is a helluva drug.
EDIT: Ulcers can suck but she absolutely could have just gone to primary or urgent care instead of the fucking ER. Everything is a crisis godbless.

You're mostly correct about this, but I have two minor corrections.
-You CAN stay on your parent's insurance past 26, but you have to provide solid proof of disability and submit it to the insurance company once you hit 26. Pixy did not do that and is ineligible now, though.

Yeah, the thing is she'd need someone competent to be her advocate and help her navigate the system and answer all the questions (like Bob for Chris). PT is in a position where she's not really competent to get herself help, no one in her family really seems likely to step up, and she's not quite bad enough to have a social worker or something to help her out.
Pixy would never get approval in her current state. She can and does work. Being a mentally ill, eccentric weirdo isn’t enough. She even has a legitimate 4-year degree. Pixy just needs psychiatric help and a therapist to control her raging mental illness and she could probably even get a non-retail job.
If her mom wasn’t also crazy, they’d have gotten her help long ago and had her medicated for whatever is wrong with her and got her into therapy to develop healthy coping mechanisms. But whatever, she’s almost 40 now and is probably going to end up the Weaboo Baglady of Victoria when her parents die.
Texas does not dole out Medicaid easily, single non-disabled people with no children, on any income level, aren't getting it. Even the literal homeless have case workers set them up on county-specific homeless plans through their local hospitals. Former convicts might get it but I'm not 100% sure on that. There is help for Pixy even in Victoria but she won't seek it our other accept it.
Come to think of it, if she won't get mental help, she won't get a gender dysphoria diagnosis that would allow her to transition to Ashton (not that she should be diagnosed with gender dysphoria).
