There's a lot to be said here, but I think Notch's "*squirt*" tweet sums it all up.

This whole situation is fucking amazing, and a perfect example of why Nora is so unsuccessful as a SJW.

Nora has been described in the past as a "cult leader" type, akin to Vade or Winterfox/RequiresHate. Although her aggressiveness may indicate an inclination towards this, she has been shown to resent this side of herself, because she would prefer to seen as part of the same class as Alison Rapp, FemFreq and Brianna Wu: professional victims who are attacked just for posting real talk about feminism. (That's where the money is, after all!)

The key issue is that Nora cannot accurately judge how her behavior looks from the outside, and believes that receiving hateful remarks in and of itself proves she is a victim. The likes of Wu choose their words very carefully to avoid revealing that they deserve or even solicit criticism, while Nora just cannot shut up, and makes it obvious that she's trying to pick fights so she can whine when her target hits back. Her rationale is that we should all just abandon the idea of "perfect victims" and defend everyone equally, an argument which only actually works if you're layers deep in the Norasphere and not just a casual observer.

And on top of that, she also does exactly the opposite of the successful ones of either type do when picking targets. The successful types mostly pick on the ants that can be easily stepped on, or the mammoths that won't even notice no matter how much you kick them. Nora exclusively wants to fight the bears and alligators of the world: small enough to potentially give a shit, big enough to easily bite your head off. You cannot intimidate or strong-arm a video game gazillionaire into submission, that's just not how the world works.

She also has a key flaw: she has no charismatic draw whatsoever.

Nora is dumber than John Flynt, who actually works to keep up the facade of competence and pulls back the fangs when it's of benefit to do so. Nora has no ability to tone down her flaws in order to make herself look sane and worth listening to like Sarkeesian (quite the opposite), and is 28 going on 50 and takes no measures to make being a woman in any way an asset like Rapp.

In short, she's an artless failure at ripping off the acts of much more successful grifters.
