The best places for mods is modding sites like Nexus, ModDB and Cursed Forge and MinecraftMods for Minecraft mods as they will manually go over the files uploaded to their sites to make sure that nothing suspicious is on it. Why she did that instead of going to a legitimate modding site like Nexus or Minecraft mod sites like Cursed Forge or MinecraftMods baffles me.

It is one thing that screws up a lot of people. They have to get involved beyond shitposting on here, or just shitposting in general. They're not happy with just being an anon, like everyone else. They have to be known, and will go to extreme lengths and do dumb shit in order to do so.

Those sites look for standard malware with standard scanners. And the bigger mods have actual commit review processes, but it would be relatively easy to sneak something targeted in. It’s happened before in Minecraft drama. Iirc one mod was modified to blow up Minecraft if it detected another - could easily have been exfiltrating data.

So staying with the big mod portals is way better than downloading random virus.mod.exe from filesharing sites, but still be wary if you’re at risk.

For example there are know tranny mod developers who would definitely be willing to put in anti-null code to try to kill kiwifarms. guaranteed they’d try it if they thought it could work.
