There is a Ready For Ron group apparently not affiliated with Ron DeSantis but is led by Republican political consultant Ed Rollins who in the past was associated with the 1984 Ronald Reagan campaign and a pro-Donald Trump PAC. Other DeSantis allies are also involved. The goal of Ready for Ron is to "draft" DeSantis into running for president. I think at this point DeSantis is considering a presidential campaign, but he wants to see if it will be worth the time and resources to actually embark on one that he knows has a good chance of winning the primary.

Grift? Maybe. I took it as more of a GOP barometer. They're using it as a trial balloon amongst staunch AND previously donated registered Republicans (myself) to see what kind of support backing DeSantis really has. If you're willing to open your wallet and I suspect many fools will, they'll dump Trump and run the fool.
You and I have discussed similar. Yes. I donated to RNC and Trump. But I donated HEAVILY to Kari Lake's campaign. Hobbs winning destroyed all belief I have in the political system in this state.

I've worked and still do for the largest banks in America. You have no idea of the constant Federal fuckery involved in running a bank. The Feds would fine him out of existence in a skinny minute (guilty or not).
Plus, Trump hated the CFPB as much as I do and basically castrated them. An agency that reports to no one, levies billions in fines over relatively minor infractions on a whim.
Now ain't the time for Trump to open a bank. The Feds would fucking eat him alive in short order.

You pay taxes, I assume? You do see that you have to declare any assets you are holding in foreign banks, right? Federal laws regarding banking now want to know where every dime of your money lives. And the Feds are only pushing harder to lower the threshold so that any transaction of $600 or more must be reported to them. Ain't as easy to hide money in an offshore Cayman Island account as it used to be.
