Optimism... glowing fake employment/earnings reports... all the typical shit the Fed does to deny that we're heading into a recession.

The market dumped 500+ points yesterday, which isn't unusual by itself for any given day. The key is to see if it rebounds today or the slide continues into next week.

There's so much more than the stock market involved, though. GDP numbers, the amount of credit now in use (reports I've seen indicate that most households have maxed out their credit cards), car loans with default/repos rising significantly, inflation/cost of goods. A whole slew of factors where any one by itself doesn't spell catastrophe, but when aggregated as a whole, present a picture of average Americans struggling like hell financially and going broke. This is the BIG picture you're not seeing in the media.

Hope I'm wrong. Honestly do. But I ain't getting caught with my pants down, either.

Approval of trannies is bad for obvious reasons. I agree, we shouldn't protect equity holders. All shareholders, including those who invested in startups that use SVB, shouldn't be protected from risks they knowingly assumed.
