If he pled no contest then he was actually convicted of the charge. You don't plead no contest and then have it settle out of court. It's not possible. You can plea no contest to a lesser charge which is what might have happened but he was convicted of something.

these legal terms can be confusing so here is some translation into pat speak:
not guilty = "wrong in every circumstance, child." (defendant disputes indictment)

In general, "harassment" by communications is a misdemeanor - and that in a situation where the so-called "victim" does not engage whatsoever with the caller and can't be treated as someone who inspired attempts to communicate with their behavior. It would be hard to make a case that someone who LARPs as a political/social commentator who publishes his own personal phone number online and repeatedly engages with his alleged "harassers", makes false allegations about them, reviles them and has even sued them [and lost, and earned himself a civil judgment for his trouble] and otherwise given them an opening to express their right of rebuttal could legitimately call himself a "victim" of "harassment".
About the only time "harassment" by communications rises to the level of a felony is if it's done in an attempt to intimidate a victim, witness or juror in an active criminal trial.
That said, texting his phone is stupid and does nothing but give him a [admittedly weak] talking point. He is a low-IQ, mentally defective person who is entirely out of touch with reality. He is never going to own up to anything his critics say about him, regardless of what form of media they use, nor how demonstrably true their statements are. If having a spouse cheat on him, divorce him, humiliate him and force him to sign away his rights as a parent is not enough of a personal tragedy to make him realize what a buffoon he is, absolutely nothing will.

Do you think he will just stop? First of all his ego can not handle it. If he can't get his shit published he will self publish on lulu or some shit, but I assume him sucking his buddies pedo dicks has earned him some good favor in the industry.
Secondly, what is he going to do? Even if he wanted to get a job (which I strongly doubt he does), at this point the stalker childs would harrass them relentlessly, no employer in their right mind would ever hire him unless he did a complete 180 and basically stopped using the internet (which I also doubt he could ever do).
The only alternative for him to continue his lifestyle is to suck enough dick to get hired in a consultant position as a sci fi author at the government or an organisation large enough where they won't give a fuck about the trolling, like Disney or some shit.
I bet you his hooves will produce more shit. The only sad thing is that they are not easily digestible cow content like retarded videos or comics, very few of the stalker childs engage with the material, it is the author and his interactions that we love.

For all intents and purposes, he has stopped. His ego can find a way to blame someone else for the cessation. That is, if he even admits there is one. “No, child, I haven’t stopped writing. That’s your delusions again.”
He considers that beneath him. There’s something his ego can’t handle. If he truly had the drive to write, he’d keep at it and get it out there no matter what. But he doesn’t write for the love of it; he writes because he wants to be rich and famous. He said so himself.
He’ll continue doing what he’s been doing: Mooching off his mother-in-law, (allegedly) running scams, and selling insurance while sitting on his fart couch and tweeting back at atalkers when he isn’t stinking up Hooligans slowly killing his heart. His books haven’t supported his lifestyle.

I don't understand why Rick, who's trying to be this this tough-guy rebel, doesn't take advantage of this and make a big show of not needing to be a part of the SWFA instead of following them around like a lost puppy/janny.
