In light of this recent intel, which I believe is probably true, it makes me think more than ever he was likely not abused by his ex-girlfriend, but rather he abused her. He's such an unpleasant person all around, the fact he disparages Contra for being an addict doesn't surprise me at all. I bet he's a right nasty cunt to be in a relationship with and employs DARVO when called out. Narcs like him lie so often and so extensively they often come to believe their own bullshit, so the fact he was able to churn out that Men, Abuse, Trauma video without remorse (assuming of course he is full of shit) isn't that far fetched. His crying in that was just as garbage a performance as his little sniffles whenever Diana gives him $500 on stream (or more hilariously his high school drama level indignant rage-sobbing in the NHS video).

Speaking of - it really is telling how he talks to and treats his supposed fans. His public scolding of JoanFromLegal is a prime example, and now his total dismissal of Diana asking for the glasses as a souvenir, "no. They're mine." Again you'd think Choob may be feeling a little charitable towards the woman who's given him what amounts to a few thousand dollars by now, but no. Maybe he thinks being overly blunt is some kind of slay kween girlboss move and he shouldn't ever have to explain himself to anyone. Not that he was obligated to give the glasses as someone said, but at least cushion your response with a bit of tact.
It's easy to consider Choob in a detached sense only interacting with his content online, but in person he truly does sound abhorrent, I'm not surprised at all that Contra wants nothing to do with him and drank himself into a stupor to deal with having to see him, lol.

Ollie specifically said "don't repeat this" to my friend about Contra, and I must stress this is a person Ollie had just met about 30 seconds earlier.

I'm maybe talking out my arse about him having no friends in the London trans scene. But I meet a lot of transgender Londoners and I've yet to encounter a single person who doesn't grimace or eyeroll when "Abigail" is brought up. I feel like the trans community isn't that big, but I have yet to meet someone who identifies as a friend of PhilosophyTube, despite knowing multiple people who've met him.

To go back to that tweet, I've heard the 'womanface' argument before (applied to troons) and I find it a compelling one. It's just so bizarre that there's this enormous social pressure to accept the fantasies of people pretending to be members of the opposite sex at face value, even the gentlest questioning of this logic becoming so taboo that people feel comfortable saying openly that TERFs deserve to be murdered, and yet on the other hand there's an equally intense taboo against pretending to be a member of a different race. This seems to me to be another insoluble dilemma within the pro-trans belief system - if you accept one, it is illogical not to accept the other. If men are allowed to wear wigs and skirts and make-up and force everyone to pretend they are women, then it must follow that white people can put on dark make-up and wear dreadlocks and force everyone to pretend they are black. I doubt Olly or any other TRA will ever think up a convincing counter-argument.

You get little squalls about drag queens, femboys, traps and transvestites popping up from time to time.

It rarely goes anywhere because drag queens and crossdressing femboys existed long before the concept of transgender got properly codified (it used to be a given twinks would wear makeup, if you go back far enough) and any concern is drowned out by a chorus of AGPs saying sissification porn/traps/forced feminisation was what helped them discover their gender identity (what we'd call the GAMP to AGP pipeline).
