The only reason the Space Pirates didn't win is that they're the type of crayon-eaters who would try and feed a metroid.

Basically, yes. They're more like evil scientists than space pirates. I've seen other factions act more like space pirates than the Zebesians; I've never seen them attack enemies for the sake of plundering wealth or terrorizing civilians. The Zebesians remind me more of Cerberus from Mass Effect where they do all sorts of science experiments to create superweapons, and they end up creating unholy abominations that have to be put down.

Alright so after playing the new remaster and beating it with 100% items and 90+% scans.... I thought there'd be more added to the rather than just a graphical overhaul with a model viewer.

I know it sounds bitchy and it's great that we're getting anything prime related at all, making more accessible to new and old to own a copy.

Post Other M, I think the fanbase hates seeing Samus in any way sexualized because they fear it will lead to another one of those sorts of games. Hence why the hold-up that fricken decades old Nintendo Power image as the only one that matters and the only one her design should take cues from.

It's weird because the story is the main problem with the game, if the script had Samus mute the whole game barring the little time see actually speaks, It bother people as much. I like the combat a lot team Ninja's speciality, and they also must've loved super Metroid since a lot of grunt creatures show up here.

I've been playing some Ghost Song and it's got a similar melee thing as SR/Dread(except enemies won't stop and home in on you). When you shoot the arm cannon will heat up, the hotter it gets the more damage the melee will inflict. Much more damage. This creates a gameplay loop where you can run/jump in blastin' and then smack things around to finish them off, it's pretty fun.

Aren't the Other M pirates just clones that went nuts because of some chick that they made to be Mother Brain 2.0? As for the 2D pirates, they didn't seem much outside of being target practice.

I'm a casual fan of the series, I beat Super, Other M, and the Prime Trilogy, and I never felt that having a non-sexualized female lead was something to be proud of. Sure, the "hot sexy space babe" trope has been done to death, but why wouldn't a genetically-enhanced woman be attractive?

What they should've gone for is something along the lines of the Soul Calibur ladies. Sexually attractive, but confident and competent. The thing with these fans is that they associate Samus being sexy with Samus being deferential to General Adam (which makes sense given he was a big part of her past) from Other M.

Really, they need to cool down. Samus being portrayed as an attractive woman isn't anything bad, unless these folks are that insecure about their own looks that they can't afford to have their video game idol be the least bit attractive.

The Prime space pirates are some of my favorite villains ever. They're so cartoony and stupid. You'll be walking around and randomly stumble upon some log that just says "shit... we accidentally killed like 6 guys trying to turn them into cubes. Our bad."
