What lies are those?
Hello Redditor.
There was an endless stream of new stories and lies pushed about Trump, Trump and Russia and Russia. It was an endless stream where it was just pushing people onto the latest outrage because non of it was going anywhere as it was just propaganda of Orange Man bad. Moving on to the next one. Then it fizzled out. Some Trump associates did some things that were bad. None of the grand giant conspiracies.
Remember the Steele dossier? Pee tapes. Trump being compromised in the 80s as a Russian asset. Hacking of electrical grids. Trump having servers connected to Russia in Trump tower. The claims of widespread Russian infiltration of the internet. The extent of Russian bots online. Lots of claims of Trumps associates being tied to Russia. Russians using microwave weapons against American's. Trump associates visiting Julian Assange to coordinate shit. There were constant lies by the media and politicians they had secret evidence that proved Trump did various crimes. Claims Trump was directing people to lie which of course ends up not having proof. Claims Trump Jr was offered advanced access to wiki leaks.
Plus many more. It was all a giant tapestry never ending to propagandise people. Those montages of, "the walls are closing in" were all different and new stories that went no where. The fact that it just endlessly rolled onto the next thing. Nothing every coming of most of it. The debunking or not accounting for the reports being wrong. Means people were just fed to this propoganda hose, then never looked back. It's the greatest media failure of the 21st century. Especially now that many aspects were tied to propagandising for war with Russia. For fear that Trump if in power may not support it.
Even when it came to the pandemic. We know from the efforts to Fortify the election. There was a widespread in the open conspiracy. The media lied about the pandemic at the start. Then completely changed it's position. Always from the angle to paint Trump bad. Travel ban racist. A few weeks alter, "why didn't Trump take it seriously." Trump telling people to drink bleach is considered a factual thing that happened. No one can honestly say that isn't misconstruing the point he was making. Doesn't matter. Outright lies and in current discourse lying to prove a greater point is the norm.
