How does that have any bearing on the articles written in the 70s providing insight to the same type of warfare those in Africa would be facing during the bush wars? Who the fuck brought up the SAS?The Vietnam war was decided by regular infantry going at each other in Battalion strength units. The myth of the Special Forces was formed in Vietnam and helped kill the US war effort. If you want to know more read Max Hastings 'The Vietnam War'. The North Vietnamese were picking their best and brightest and sending them into the Infantry, the US wasn't. That's why they lost the war.
In the UK the SAS keep trying to become the US Navy Seals, and wiser heads keep preventing them. You can't join the SAS directly, you have to join the regular army first and be recommended by your unit. Also and this is key, SAS officers get rotated back to regular infantry units after 3/4 years. This is why so many Infantry Regiment commanders are ex SAS.
Also Karl is still a bigot until he trades in his wagon in a "Cash for Clunkers" deal.
