Okay you got me. I was a former staff member at the con and got voted off staff instead of being made convention chair.

Here's why I was voted off the board by the other convention chairs. The convention board didn't like my ideas about improving the con. I suggested updating the gaming room with newer video game systems and they didn't wish to spend the money. They are still using older systems such as a PS3 and XBox 360. I tried telling them about the Arcade 1UP arcade and pinball games and wanted to get two or three of them for the con. They were being bitchy about the money, yet the con has been constantly growing with more funds coming in, and still they want to be cheap as fuck and not update things. Their gaming room needs more monitors, more board and card games. I mentioned some newer board games such as Quacks of Quedlinburg, Cosmic Encounter, Mojumi, Tiny Towns and Survive - Escape From Atlantis and that by expanding the gaming room it would bring in more attendees to the convention. There are lots of people who spend the majority of the con in the gaming area.

Ten years ago and he absolutely would have had a thread on AC. However, other than the recent drama with the court case, I don't think he's been high-profile enough these days to be worth one (perhaps outside of the "historical lolcows" section). Feel free to disagree.

Anyway, since the image Alejandro1994 posted only gives one result on reverse image search, to a cropped version of the image, posted in a meeting group in Austin TX, I'm inclined to believe that he is indeed Mix rather than Dan. Unless Dan has some next level gayop skills.

It's inevitable, even the most milquetoast vanilla furry is weird by default and it only gets weirder from there on out.
Nothing innately wrong with that but it does mean that if you put like 1000 of them together in a convention center there's bound to be very weird and/or degenerate antics.
Even if you decide to not participate in the 18+ content always expect there to be some lunatic that walks around barely clothed in a pup mask or a diaper, and pray that the convention staff has the balls to just up and kick them out.
I never liked the "one big wholesome furry family/disneyland" aproach to the fandom and especially conventions, it's just misleading.

Honestly is because most people go to cons to party. The amount of alcohol that is drank is would is insane. From my understanding is that Furcons are very different from most other conventions because parties are the reasons why you go. It's honestly telling from how people act on twitter that they never been to any actual Furcons are they are the types to fall asleep at like 9pm. Unless you are up at 10pm+ you wouldn't understand what cons are really like.


Honestly I do think cons at this point should be 18+ affairs that or have some that are. I think it will help solve a lot of problems. At least if they are explicitly 18+ you can have one that are strictly 13+ so you wont have to please both sides.
