Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

So I looked into some story about Russia using T-55 tanks, as I have been told that the footage is about 3 to 4 years old.

I remember reading a story a while ago as well that Laos sold some T-34 tanks to Russia for those Victory Day parades as well.

Like this article from Vice News, however other mainstream outlets are parroting the same stuff almost verbaitm.

Russia Appears to Be Deploying 75-Year-Old Tanks to Ukraine (Archive)

So their got their information from some group.

According to Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT), an open source intelligence group based in the country of Georgia, the Kremlin has started pulling T-54 and T-55 tanks from a storage base in the far east of Russia. The T-54 and T-55 tanks were built starting in the late 1940s and the Soviet Union built a lot of them. The USSR manufactured more than 100,000 of the tanks in the decade after the war, making it the most widely produced tank in the world.

I decided to look into this CIT lot and found their official website.

citeam.org (Archive)

And then found their donation page where they mentioned that the Western Mainstream media loves to quote them.

Below are screen captures of their site with English translation.

Looked onto their twitter account and found this interesting tweet.

And then on a final note, found that they have a Wikipedia page.

A short summary is some Russian butthurt at Putler, decided to work with the CIA lol.

What is the source for the 100,000+ Russian dead, anyway? I mean, given what a meatgrinder this war has been it wouldn't surprise me, but is there an official basis for that number?

Because if they're coming up with it just by extrapolating...well, back in Vietnam, our experts were "extrapolating" that the Vietcong/NVA were taking a tremendous amount of casualties and their truck convoys along the Ho Chi Minh trail were being eradicated nightly by air attack simply based on the amount of ordnance expended.

They have been extrapolated straight out of Zelensky's anus.

Some pro western libshit Russian language outlet (meduza or something? I don't have a link atm) did an open source investigation recently and the best they could come up with was something like ~14,000 Russian KIAs.

Zelensky's Law, get a random number of Russia loses based around ammunition used, then square it.

Russia will produce 1.5 thousand tanks this year, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Big if true, we can barely produce 10 100 Abrams a year, let alone repair the ones we already have.

Very likely this number also refers to refurbished or modernized vehicles.

I admittedly haven't been following Russian procurement as closely this last year as I have previously, but for them to have developed the production capacity to produce 1500 MBTs from scratch annually, compared to what they were able to output as of a year ago... It would certainly be quite a feat, let's put it like that.

I've never quite understood why anyone—even a Fatmerican—would want to attach a scrotum to his truck.

RIP to the French mercenary. Maybe he just got tricked into supporting the Nazis because he believed the Fake News. May God have mercy on his soul.

Versus ten one hundred tanks a year at a single factory? Come on now.

I can't take anyone's word for the gospel truth, much less a politician's, but clearly Russia was anticipating this conflict and planned accordingly; eg. their quick reaction to sanctions, which backfired tremendously on the West. Russia's not even on a war footing and if it decides to do so it would be an absolute disaster for the Ukraine, and by default, NATO.

yeah but that woulld be more production of t72 tham in soviet times.
we also had prior numbers of russia that said 20ish new and 80 restored ones.

The west could produce alot more tanks, if somebody gave longtime contracts. but right now Nato isnt even producing enough trucks while the biggest truck producer in the world is cutting hours...

The US doesn't have a manufacturing base anymore, and as far as Europe is concerned the US decided to make it so expensive to remain in business they're going to the US, to rebuild it. All by design I suppose. That will take years and the Ukraine can't afford to wait.

Yes we do, they're called Public Schools and Drag Shows for Kids.

Mass-producing idiots. USA Number 1.

But in all seriousness, the only things I know that are made in America? I'm growing in my garden. Even my peanut butter is coming from India for some reason.

Drove behind someone with a Ghost of Kiev (er, sorry, KEEV) sticker on their bumper, along with one other (equally cringy) Ukraine sticker today. Just struck me as odd they'd still have a sticker of something proven to be fake and gay at this juncture.

Funny you mention that; I actually saw someone with a Ukraine flag bumper sticker on their car a short while ago when I was out running errands. Two of my neighbors still have Ukraine flags on their property.

EDIT: Removed unneeded detail.
